I’m sure it can. I found several tutorials on how to add it to Dolphin’s right click context menu, I just haven’t taken the time to do it.

The line pressures are much higher when heating so the compressors are having to work harder. Plus some units have resistive heaters in the compressors that come on during low temps.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 week ago:
Hence my question: compared to its heating capabilities, does a heat pump use much more electricity for cooling?
In my experience, they seem to use slightly more electricity heating than cooling. I retrofitted my 120 year old home with inverter style heat pumps about a year ago and have been watching the energy use during temperature extremes.
They do seem a lot more susceptible to drafts than traditional central heat and air units; So making sure your doors and windows are sealed, and the attic (if you have one) is properly ventalated, will go a long ways towards helping their efficiency.
- Comment on Blocking communities doesn't work at all 1 week ago:
I’ve been using keyword blocking in ublock origins to clean up my all feed.
To do so, open up the uBlock Origin dashboard, go to the ‘My filters’ tab, and add this filter:
lemmy.world##article.row:has-text(/word1|word2|word3|word4/i)
For example:
lemmy.world##article.row:has-text(/Trump|Elon|Musk|nazi/i)

Same here. It actually looks decent. But I’m in no hurry, I’ll wait on it until the ultimate edition is $20 and it’s been patched up.
- Comment on is lemmy.sdf.org running poorly for anyone else? 4 weeks ago:
the point when I can convince myself that the occasional slowness and downtime are reasonable
Small instances probably aren’t for you. If that was my main concern, I’d stick to major servers with more than just a couple people running it.
Personally I’m here for the atmosphere. Feels like the old internet. And as someone who has been around for the entirety of the internet; sometimes shit doesn’t work and you have to go do something else for a while.
Monthly recurring donation here. No ragrets.
- Comment on is lemmy.sdf.org running poorly for anyone else? 4 weeks ago:
It’s easily in the top spot for worst money I’ve ever spent on anything.
Seriously? The donation you made to a small instance is even in the ranking for worst money spent? Because there isn’t 100% uptime? You, my friend, must be a savvy shopper.

Anecdotal, but I ran a fan in that exact orientation for years with no issues. I used it for an overhead fan in a garage.

You 3D print something with no serial and it’s untraceable.
Except for all the metal parts they used a debit card/paypal to buy.
- Comment on New Cars Don't All Come With Dipsticks Anymore, Here's Why 2 months ago:
For what it’s worth I have yet to actually physically see a new vehicle without an oil dipstick.
It seems to be mostly a euro thing. BMW stopped using oil dipsticks nearly 2 decades ago. Land Rover also somewhere in the late 00’s.
But I agree it’s a moronic idea. Not only does it prevent you from checking oil condition like you said; if it’s after an oil change, it takes about 15min just to check the level (and another 15 if you messed it up). At $150+/hr shop rates, that adds up.

- Comment on Very gently, I’m sure 2 months ago:
ABS would be better in that regard, it has a higher plasticity and less likely to fragment. But the one in the OP is PVC. ABS pipe is black.
- Comment on Very gently, I’m sure 2 months ago:
Fun fact: PVC doesn’t show up on x-rays. So when this thing turns into shrapnel and embeds itself in your abdomen; doctors get to just hunt around and hope they get all the pieces.

- Comment on Framework temporarily pausing some laptop sales in the US due to tariffs 3 months ago:
Well, my original question stands. Is it really a better business decision to choose not to sell at all vs raising prices.
I run a US business where the cost of materials has always been volatile and the cost of the end product follows that. 40% swings aren’t uncommon and just get passed onto the end user; my profit stays relatively the same. So I can’t fathom just locking the doors when things get expensive (and people are still willing to pay it).
I could understand it if they were doing it as some form of protest, but then it doesn’t make sense to only stop selling the low priced options. That’s just hurting the people furthest removed from what you are protesting.
- Comment on Framework temporarily pausing some laptop sales in the US due to tariffs 3 months ago:
But like that article says, automakers have ~3 months of inventory already in the US. They aren’t pausing sales, they are just continuing selling what they have here while betting the tariffs get lowered in the next 3 months.
- Comment on Framework temporarily pausing some laptop sales in the US due to tariffs 3 months ago:
How is pausing sales in one area, rather than just raising prices accordingly, the better business decision? No one is forcing them to sell at a specific price point.
