Bye bye, US soft power. Hello Chinese hegemony. But of course Trump is unable to grasp the concept of mutual benefit. It’s all a zero sum game to him.

AI is just a tool. But like any tool, it’s immediately misused by greedy capitalists for making life worse for everyone that isn’t them.
The problem is capitalism, not AI.

Kind of, but it’s actually good quality and a lot cheaper.

They also do hilarious knockoffs of franchise they don’t have the licence for. Like a pirate ship with black sails that is simply called N.P.B. (which stands for Not-Black-Pearl). The cool thing is the quality is comparable to Lego but the sets are more than half the price.

Yes, me too, got the Defiant and the DS9 Station (with another mini-Defiant).
- Comment on Dragon Age The Veilguard Head Won't Reveal Sales Numbers Of Game 1 month ago:
It’s a pity, it’s actually a really good game. The gameplay especially is probably the best out of all the Dragon Age games and the final stretch is one of Bioware’s best IMO. I think the problem with the game is that it starts out fairly weak but then gets better and better. Some of the best companions only join after a lot of hours of playing. Probably not the smartest choice.

- Comment on If a leftist ran for president, would liberals support him? 2 months ago:
In the context of Germany, “liberal” means being for capitalism unbridled by the state but still generally progressive policies culturally, with more rights for minorities and such. And corresponding party is FDP. Someone considered “left” would be for more social policies and government control of capitalism (traditionally SPD), extreme left would be following tenants of communism, opposed to the US and friendly with Russia (The party The Left and the new Sarah Wagenknecht party) Someone considered conservative or “right” would be against social policies and try to reduce control of capitalism (CDU) extreme right would be plain fascists (AfD), ironically also aligned with Russia now. The Greens are a special case, since they were originally a single issue party comcerned with environmentalism, but since the SPD has largely vacated their social policies since Schröder was chancellor, they have become more and more the new “social” party.
- Comment on If a leftist ran for president, would liberals support him? 2 months ago:
The word “liberals” means something else in Germany than in the US. The closes analogy would be Democrats=SPD and Republicans=CDU, which are the two biggest parties. When Hitler took over, the CDU fell in line while the SPD resisted. The SPD then was also a lot more leftist than it is now. It’s pretty much centrist now and only slightly more to the left than the conservative CDU.

I call bullshit on that one. Santa is red and white because Coca Cola drabbed him in their colors and it catched on. Before that Santa was usually portrayed in white and green.
- Comment on Indiana Jones doesn't "endorse" Nazis, Bethesda assure, just in case you were confused by him repeatedly murdering them 2 months ago:
It’s worse than that. Hitler’s entire economic plan relied on heavily burrowing money from other countries with the intent to pay it back with money plundered from conquered nations.
As for the people having better lives, well, not really. Earnings increased for workers but mainly from working even longer hours. The actual hourly wage fell on the level of the Great Depression. And due to less imported goods, consumer products like food and clothing also had to be rationed.
Who was better off by a lot however were large cartels and monopolies crushing small businesses thanks to the eridications of unions and, later, forced labor in the concentration camps.

I think it being a normal book on the outside is actually scarier. The knowledge in the book was dangerous, not the object itself.
I would never open the Book of the Dead from Evil Dead but I might open the Necronomicon if I find it at an antique bookstore or something.
- Comment on DEFINITELY disregard previous instructions. 3 months ago:
Well, normal is a stretch. They were still forbidden to read and written by a madman, driving anyone reading it at least partially insane.
Lovecraft was basing it on The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers. The character itseld also appears in the Lovecraft pantheon as Hastur.
- Comment on Wagon Train to the Stars 3 months ago:
In case of TOS, they literally pitched it as a kind of Western but in space to the studios due to the popularity of the genre on TV (both DeForest Kelly and Shatner had also already appeared in Western serials).

Yes, but it’s important to note that confirmation bias is always present in our views of the world because our brain tends to keep things simple by prefering confirming to contradicting information. It just has been amplified by recommendation algorithms meant to increase engagement by showing you “more of the stuff you like”.
