    Vertical is so nice for text and so bad for video.

    And for games… apparently Zandronum renders 4:3 regardless of resolution. So one time I played Knee Deep In The Dead looking like Marathon.

  Ultimate Pure here with a single monitor. Because I know how to position windows and use such cutting edge modern features as RESIZING and ALT-TAB. Woo!

    I find them super useful when screen sharing in a meeting because you can just share the secondary display and all your other crap (and notifications!) can stay on the main display.

      Meetings are detrimental to my coding time. If they want me to sit around doing nothing for hours on end they should just tell me to do that instead of dragging me into a room with other people talking about how important they think they are. If they really want information about what I’m doing, email exists.

  Laptop and two horizontal monitors at work. Is that lawful neutral good, neutral good lawful.

  Personally, I think it’s probably neutral awful - one is HDMI and the other is VGA.

    I’ve got my laptop, main 32" inch monitor, and a 27" vertical monitor on the other side. So am I a lawful chaotic neutral? Chaotic lawful neutral? Truly true neutral? Also, one is connected through HDMI and the other is connected through DVI.

  I’m a reverse Lawful Neutral; laptop on the left, monitor on the right.

  Before that I had a 16:9 monitor on the left and a 4:3 monitor on the right. That doesn’t seem to be in the chart anywhere.

  Seriously, someone needs to start making high-quality 4:3 monitors again. Sure, they’re not great for movies and modern video games, but they’re great for reading websites.

  I guess I’m chaotic neutral. I’ve never had enough money to buy two of the same monitor. All of my stuff is stuff I got either for free from school or for extremely cheap.

  Chaotic neutral isn’t that bad when you’re doing programming since the extra vertical space is really convenient.

  Due to a mistake I made, I’m chaotic good instead of neutral good. Current set-up is a 27" 1080p HDMI on the left, and 24" 1080p VGA on the right. Not too much in a hurry to replace my smaller monitor though, I need to upgrade my graphics card first to allow for a HDMI-HDMI configuration at least.

      Not a programmer either but this is the only setup I can do in my studio at home. At work however it’s a 4 screen setup as Chaotic Good.

  Honestly, these days I just work directly on my laptop. Get to use touchpad gestures which is nice, grilling my hands under CPU load maybe less nice.

  It’s usually enough to just alt+tab between my IDE and browser, so my workflow hasn’t suffered much.

  I have four screens from four different manufacturers, with three different sizes, three different resolutions, two different aspect ratios and two different refresh rates. Two of these are resurrected from the dead of which one has a high voltage cold cathode driver externally plastered to it’s back (because the internal failed and there was no space inside) and the other one shining from every pore because I “replaced” one cold cathode tube by plastering the “replacement” tube somewhere in the housing of the monitor to fool the driver into thinking all tubes are fine (one was defect, the driver doesn’t work without every tube connected and putting the replacement in the place where it should belong is too much work). I am basically the evil necromancer of chaotic evil.

  1. 27 inch, 1440p, 16:9, 144Hz, Asus
  2. 24 inch, 1080p, 16:9, 60Hz (driver sticking out), BenQ
  3. 21 inch, 1080p, 16:9, 60Hz, Iiyama
  4. 21 inch, 1040p, 16:10, 60Hz, Eizo
