I wonder what the white houses april fools joke will be. Probably something along the lines of “We’re sending humanitarian aid to Myanmar” or something tone-deaf like that
- Comment on Are there democratic countries whose democratic institutions survived an auto-coup attempt? 1 week ago:
I assume a coup by the reigning government.

These fuckers will clean out a pond in your backyard in no time, so don’t worry about them. They alternate between a range of ponds anyway, it’s not like it’s gonna starve. They are beautiful birds though.

x 3 + 3 obviously.
- Comment on Whose bright idea was it to give the morning people enough power to set the "business hours" anyways‽ 3 weeks ago:
I admire your passion. None of the things you mention are mutually exclusive with generally preferring to rise early, however. Preferring to rise early is not a statement against people working night shifts.

He’ll be shocked about how he ended up looking like a bathroom wall. Maybe a nice light beige/yellow-brown, which is the color of natural rubber?
- Comment on Whose bright idea was it to give the morning people enough power to set the "business hours" anyways‽ 3 weeks ago:
This is really about habits. I used to be a night owl, but changed my habits gradually and now I’m a morning person. You might have some genetic predisposition towards staying up late, but even so this is something that you can change, I believe.
What helped me, is that I started enjoying waking up early a lot more than staying up late.
- Comment on MSI and ASUS hike GeForce RTX 50 series prices in official stores, now up to $3,409 for RTX 5090 1 month ago:
That’s about 10x more than I have ever paid for a gpu and will ever pay for a gpu. Who tf buys this at hose prices? You can go on a 3 month vacation to Thailand for that kind of money.

I like to imagine there are gnomes in lightpoles on little bikes generating the electricity required to keep the lamp lit.
- Comment on Leaked video shows UnitedHealth CEO saying insurer will continue practices that combat 'unnecessary' care 3 months ago:
Well, the laws create the conditions. In Europe health care tends to be strictly regulated, so you don’t get these wolves in health care. It’s actually considered quite a dull career that pays decently but nothing out of the ordinary, even for the higher ups.

- Comment on That chicken's name? Joe Rogan 5 months ago:
I have been watching Newsradio after seeing a very funny clip, which has Joe Rogan as the IT/maintenance guy. He’s not very funny, but I was surprised it was the same guy as I had only ever heard of him as a podcaster.

- Comment on Colin Anderson Calls GTA 2 the ‘Unsung Hero’ of the Franchise | Retro Gaming News 24/7 5 months ago:
I agree it was the best in the series. I never quite enjoyed the later gta games as much as the unbridled fun of gta 2.
- Comment on Pizza rule 5 months ago:
I once did something like that to myself. Not satisfied with the tame spiciness of jalapenos on pizza, I decided to put a bhut jolokia (aka ghost pepper) on one. That was a profoundly dumb idea.
I was blinded by the need for spice and suffered twice.
- Comment on So bad it was actually entertaining 5 months ago:
I think we decided to play 3 more rounds and then count the points, as the game was still gonna go on for at least another hour otherwise.

That reminds me of the Amadeus bar in Leuven. The owner was notoriously grumpy and curt. I sometimes went there as a student to play board games. One time he seemed very interested as we were playing, as he was looking at the board. We asked him if he wanted to play with and he just went “No, I’m wondering how much longer this game will take so I can kick you out and close.”
Not sure if it’s still open.
- Comment on PC gaming fan Steven Spielberg says he "can't do controllers," prefers keyboard and mouse 5 months ago:
I’m in the same camp, although I wish it wasn’t so. I’ve gotten okayish at Rocket League with mouse and keyboard, but that really is a controller game.
