The difference is that Lemmy is a social platform and Reddit is a advertisement delivery platform, by which it has joined the ranks of other so called top-tier “Social Platforms” like xitter, facebook and instagram.
Even though I dislike Reddit...

xitter
The only good way to spell that platform’s name. Love it!

Yeah definitely, The post isn’t to shit on Lemmy. I find it more of a home here than whatever reddit was

Yet Reddit suppresses discussion of lemmy…

If Lemmy was Reddit’s ex, it would rip Lemmy out of all its photos.

Boy was the Titanic huge. What a marvel of the day and age.

I’d actually argue they do. Look at how often posts and comments mentioning Lemmy get removed. If they didn’t care about them, they’d leave them up like they didn’t matter.
starman2112@sh.itjust.works 1 hour ago
I have never had a comment mentioning Lemmy removed
Bazell@lemmy.zip 25 minutes ago
It heavily depends on circumstances like when, where, by whom and how was Lemmy mentioned. In some small unpopular communities it has very low chances to be removed. But, if it mentioned in big ones, then it has higher chances to be eliminated. Also, if seems that for now AI can normally process only text data, so mentioning it in a caption will not trigger Reddit AI.

The actual users don’t think about Lemmy because the admins won’t let them know it exists.

Accurate, don’t forget that Donald Draper is actually a miserable SOB who is not who he’s pretending to be

I don’t miss it. I clicked today on a reddit search result and ended up on an AI generated search thing that was trying to be helpful. Noped the hell out.

Wait, really? That’s sounds so low
Stefan_S_from_H@discuss.tchncs.de 18 hours ago
Sounds like a bug. 24 users don’t write 1269 posts and 1867 comments.

Accurate

I think the main cause is the time aspect. Like the lemming above, I’m missing the old Reddit. The bottom half of the picture is the (somewhat) new reddit. But yeah, I’m aware it hasn’t changed overnight only 1-2 years ago.

Anyone miss old school forums ? Sometimes I do.
TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 5 minutes ago
Yes, but the UI in og forums are not great. Better UI and accessibility is the number one appeal of Reddit.
starman2112@sh.itjust.works 1 hour ago
I just want a version of Reddit where the average user a) is human and b) knows how to read, or a version of Lemmy where the average user a) isn’t a Leninist and b) knows how to read

Sadly, but you have described an issue solvable only by time or interdementional travel. And we don’t have both. 🙁
