- Comment on What should the next President of the United States do? 1 week ago:
Abuse power in the same way trump is, ignore laws, and do so with the effort to actually make the country decent.
That will never happen though. Instead if we get a dem president (which I doubt there’s going to even be a fair election) it’ll be right back to the crap they always do. No progress, and by the next republican president we’d definitely be a full dictatorship. But we’re already at that point so this is just pointless hypotheticals. It’s going to be a long and dark decade for the US and I doubt it’s going to survive as a single country by 2035.

Main thing I’m sad about is deltarune not winning the soundtrack category.
- Comment on The 2025 Steam Awards Winners 1 week ago:
Steam awards are pretty much always like this. Popularity over the actual category itself.

Hostile takeover is basically the only way I could see this country changing.

Easier of a solution than I had found when I tried… I remember looking it up basically being told it wasn’t possible without a lot of fiddling. Strange. Good to know it’s actually simple!

Means the only solution is the guillotine sadly.

As a heads up, Librewolf last I checked had issues with media involving DRM. Ergo, streaming services will throw a fit if you try using them on it. Not an issue if you don’t use any of course, and there may be ways around it, but worth knowing that it doesn’t work out of the box at least.

You’re not. You’re not doing that work. The LLM is.
- Comment on G-Assist is ‘real’: NVIDIA unveils NitroGen, open-source AI model that can play 1000+ games for you 3 weeks ago:
I’m going to be honest those do not sound like good uses. I want games to be designed with intent, not on the spot by an LLM.
- Comment on G-Assist is ‘real’: NVIDIA unveils NitroGen, open-source AI model that can play 1000+ games for you 3 weeks ago:
I don’t even want that, I’d rather a game have its characters and writing created with intent by a person who cares.
- Comment on Is gold investing a scam? 5 weeks ago:
It’s… Not really a scam so much as a thing for weird cranks who think the apocalypse is coming. If you have gold then you have gold. And gold will likely hold its value for a long time because it’s a rare resource. Unless we find some alchemy that turns common materials into it, it will likely stay that way. So if you buy gold at market value then you can always sell it later at market value, and that market value is almost guaranteed to be higher than when you bought it.
The people who are really into it though are the weird cranks. And I’d imagine certain stocks or even bonds are arguably better returns in the same time span.

- Comment on Valve Announces New Steam Machine, Steam Controller & Steam Frame 2 months ago:
If a game isn’t easy to play with a controller then I’m probably just not going to play it with a controller to begin with honestly, track pads or no. If I have to mess with stuff in desktop mode on my steam deck then I use the pads but otherwise, I haven’t really found them useful.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 months ago:
Do what you find morally best in that situation. Loyalty to a nation is honestly stupid to begin with. Use your brain and think. And if that means staying out of it, then stay out of it.

Sadly I’ve got too many programs that don’t work on linux, or don’t work well. And and old synthesizer that I can’t imagine would work on linux unless I made a driver for it myself, and that’s a bit beyond me.
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 2 months ago:
I don’t know if it’ll be VR but the short version is there’s a lot of code in the source 2 updates that directly point to the development of a new half-life game.
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 2 months ago:
With the fact there’s apparently surprisingly reasonable evidence of a new half life game, I wonder if that’s likely to get announced when they give these a release date. I could see them bundling it with the steam machines at least. Assuming the rumors turn out to be true.

So it doesn’t besides the point where it does.

“We send our deepest sympathies to the cat’s owner”
Did you even read it?
- Comment on Death of beloved neighborhood cat sparks outrage against robotaxis in San Francisco 2 months ago:
Did you read it? Or did you just ctrl+f “pet”? Because it specifically mentions the cat having an owner.
- Comment on Death of beloved neighborhood cat sparks outrage against robotaxis in San Francisco 2 months ago:
If you let your cat roam around outside, you don’t care about it and don’t deserve it. And if it gets killed, it’s entirely your fault.

Ya’ll still have Facebook accounts?
- Comment on The Future of Advertising Is AI Generated Ads That Are Directly Personalized to You 2 months ago:
Ads can work on me but it’s context dependent.
If it’s something I was already aware of and wanting, I have noticed that it can push my mind further in the direction of wanting to get it.
The other context is food. Like, if I’m hungry and I see an ad for food, it always looks like it’d hit the spot even if I know it wouldn’t.
The psychology of advertising is very interesting especially when you can actively feel its effects on yourself.
