- Comment on Tesla customers in France sue over brand becoming 'extreme right' 1 day ago:
Ok, this doesn’t sound too crazy in context.
They aren’t owners, they are suing to be released from their lease contracts because they feel they suffered “direct and concrete” damage from the way Teslas are now associated with “Elon Musk’s actions”.
- Comment on What did Musk and Trump fall out over? 6 days ago:
In some circumstances the company also gets a cut of rebate. I don’t know about anything that may or may not be going on in the US on this front, but in Canada Tesla’s been under scrutiny because they submitted a bunch of forms last minute claiming sales that did not look legitimate, just before the Canadian program ended.
- Comment on FediForum starts in less than 24 hours 1 week ago:
Seems to be a kind of online conference. For being open source it’s opening is very salesy/buzzword salad-ish.
“Open protocols, not closed platforms. The Fediverse, Mastodon and ActivityPub. ATmosphere, Bluesky and AtProto. Human connections, not AI bots, nor fake news nor manipulative algorithms. New funding models. New forms of governance. Better trust and safety. Direct relationships to stakeholders and customers. Interoperability across social platforms everywhere, and so much more.
After a decade of stagnation, next-generation social media is breaking out of the closed silos and connecting the world into a global, open social web. It’s a wild world full of opportunity.
FediForum brings together the leading thinkers and doers who build this new Open Social Web.”

Correct, it is mobile only. Unfortunately, I think I must be misunderstanding what you’re saying about the op stuff. This is my view, The way I think about it, at least, these are all “OPs”, ones with a plus sign next to the leftward arrow. Have comments. Image
And then if I tap, I get the op with its comments underneath it. Image

Not saying it is, but accidental, quality degrading, changes to a major/prevalent auto-correct system could result in what OP is claiming. Just to give an example.

- Comment on 6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux? 2 months ago:
For some of the hardware requirements, there are edits you can make to get it to install, but you do have to also force it every time there is a major release, minor updates go through fine.

If you saw any of the posts about people getting weird DMs from a woman, “the fediverse chick” may ring a bell, her supposed name was Nichole. If none of that sounds familiar, just search “fediverse chick” and I’m sure you’ll find some posts.
- Comment on AI Video of Trump Sucking Musk's Toes Blasted on Government Office TVs 3 months ago:
I would say there is a meta element to this kind of attack that is less directly about public perception, though that exists, and more about the target’s perception and how “they” want to be seen. And yeah everything influences everything else but that level of rabbit holing is rarely constructive. // I also think this is less about foot fetishism in specific anyway and more about Trump being sexually subservient to Musk, this is just about as graphic as you can get with the concept while remaining PG-ish, or at least public display safe.
- Comment on Make your complaints heard about bad games, says Dragon Age veteran Mark Darrah, but "your $70 doesn't buy you cruelty" 3 months ago:
There’s everything the other comments said but there is also an important distinction in “celebrating”. I would argue that while layoffs as an event are a potentially logical outcome of a bad game, it is the act of celebrating and/or calling for those layoffs that is crossing the line.

Anyone who tries to say Lower Decks wasn’t respectful of the heart of Trek, just was not paying attention at all.

I’m guessing their excuse would be some BS statement about voter fraud and “dead people voting”. Obviously they don’t want to be identified.
- Comment on I rented many games solely based on their covers, only to be mildly disappointed when I got home. 7 months ago:
Back in the day, deep down you knew what you were really getting. I’m a little annoyed these days when indie games use marketing visuals that look like they could be in-game for a modern title and then it’s all pixel art style. I get that you don’t make a pixel art poster, but in that case, go all-in on an art cover don’t let it be mistaken for game graphics.
- Comment on Why is Boimler so pale even though he grew up on a vineyard? 7 months ago:
While a part of me has every confidence that young Boimler would be depicted as equally pale, tans fade away if not maintained by lifestyle or choice, and Boimler has been in Starfleet for a bit now.
