Go ahead and unplug the drive - having it in doesn’t really help so why not give yourself the peace of mind?

- Comment on China releases 'UBIOS' standard to replace UEFI — Huawei-backed BIOS firmware replacement charges China's domestic computing goals 4 days ago:
Hey you sound like someone who knows what they are talking about - is UBIOS also a specification like UEFI is a specification? Hypothetically could others also build firmware that adheres to this UBIOS specs?
- Comment on China releases 'UBIOS' standard to replace UEFI — Huawei-backed BIOS firmware replacement charges China's domestic computing goals 4 days ago:
You could do it with enough people that there is several sections overlapping between unrelated people that it becomes infeasible even for state actors to compromise EVERY person attesting any one piece of software
- Comment on Turning Grafana into a health tracking app 5 days ago:
Does gadgetbridge have something like an API? It seems like it should already have something along these lines, since health wearables not having one is what gave birth to gadgetbridge in the first place…

Maybe, but that’s neither here nor there. We can’t draw that correlation to effects of oxygen on the body via respiration.
- Comment on 9 months after its 1.0 launch flopped, an indie dev just learned that Steam never emailed the 130,000 people who wishlisted its game 5 weeks ago:
And the numbers are ridiculous - 100 out of 87000 is ~0.1% - I’m sad that this dev’s project got kneecapped on release, but Steam is making things right here. An actual asshole move would be to have said nothing and done none of the things they’re doing now to make up for the loss. The 24 hour visibility boost should have been a bit longer though. Somewhere between 3 and 7 days sounds better.
Either way I hope the dev team recoups their losses and more with the millions of eyes that their game gets now.

Thanks, I noticed that clicking on an artists name now took you to their About page. Can’t find the artist’s top songs anywhere or atleast I can’t find them. Rage.

30 characters is like five words. Entirely doable. You can take your favorite TV show, sort character names by some logic and mispell a few of them to make a very strong very long password.

- Comment on Apple accuses former Apple Watch staffer of conspiring to steal trade secrets for Oppo 2 months ago:
They don’t. Anybody that does this is marked for life by every side - Apple as well as Oppo, as an unreliable, non-trustworthy personality. If Oppo promised him some position in their company it will be provided as a dunce seat just long enough for other potential IP thieves to think “Hey, this guy seems to have it figured out, I should steal secrets for Oppo!”, and after that reasonabke time period he’ll be buried in some godforsaken back room until he quits.
Traitors are marked wherever they go.
