  My work has shit internet. The payment processor always gets hung up for close to a minute. I have to constantly reassure the customers that “its not you, its me” and “this happens all the time, its totally normal”.
  I think they appreciate it.

      The off sales near my house recently added this, why tf would I tip when you’re grabbing a 6 pack that’s 2 steps away from the window? Gtfo with that shit. Tipping is for quality service in a sit down restaurant or for a delivery driver bringing me something cause I’m too lazy or drunk to do it myself.

      Even then, tipping should be abolished and business owners should simply pay a proper fuckin wage instead of using customers to subsidize their profits.

      My sisters girlfriend tips at places like dairy Queen, which is just fucking mental to me. Why are we tipping at regular minimum wage places now???

      Tipping culture is out of control, and this is just more corporate greed further exploring an already massively exploitative practice. I tip for people who make sub-minimum tipped wages, and that’s begrudgingly because I’m expected to supplement the wages of restaurant workers, but fuuuuuuuck doing that to regular wage places. 15-20% at a sit down place is bad enough, but now we gotta fucking help these massive corpo fucks underpay their people and skim off the tips (assuming the workers see any of it)?? No. It’s hard for all of us right now, I get it, but still, no. I just don’t go to those sorts of places really anymore for that reason.

    I remember making sure to get gas after groceries since the pumps near me would only preauthorize a dollar, letting me effectively extend my credit limit by just a few dollars enough to scrape by yet again.
