I appreciate the dedication. Your random screenshots inspire me sometimes to dig out some old games and give them a replay so thanks!

There was a cat that lived behind a job I had years ago. It was a mean little shit and wouldn’t let anyone near it without hissing and running off. I was a smoker back then and I guess me being out there smoking everyday and just not bothering the cat, It learned I wasn’t a threat. Eventually It came and chilled next to me on my breaks, then after a month of that finally let me pet it. The cat would still hiss at anyone else that tried to pet it but me, was pretty awesome.

- Comment on Dunkin' Donuts Drinks 1 week ago:
I was recently looking for a job and all the Dunkins around me were hiring like crazy. Thing is though, they pay shit wages and everyone knows it, so the job ads had to be disguised. They were all under a parent company name and never had pay info listed. It wasn’t until you clicked the apply button that it took you to a site with Dunkin Donuts listed on it. If you have to trick people into working for you then I don’t trust you to make me something im putting in my body.
- Comment on Is possible to learn to swim, just by reading a lot about it? 1 week ago:
I do a lot of research on random things. ADHD urges me to go into deep dives on very niche subjects that I don’t really have any experience with. On the rare occasions that that research becomes applicable to my actual life, I do feel that I am more skilled than a complete novice would be. I still need to get the practical practice in but if I understand the core theory of something first, its way easier for me to pick it up first try.

- Comment on Google Gemini is coming for your private apps. Here's how to stop it 1 week ago:
Im not sure when the update came out but I’ve had two forced updates in the past 3-4 months for my Pixel 6. Im assuming thats when it changed. I am very meticulous about checking settings after updates but It looks like this was only online settings for your google account, not local to the phone, which is probably how I missed it.

Funny how I turned off any data sharing for google years ago but the inclusion of gemini somehow voids my previous decision.
- Comment on There is no such thing as truly objective YouTube search results 2 weeks ago:
Its gotten to the point, I search from DDG or Mojeek or something instead of in YouTube. YT search is just a placebo at this point.
- Comment on Facebook is asking to use Meta AI on photos in your camera roll you haven’t yet shared 2 weeks ago:
That brings up a good point though. Based on just the screenshot here, it seems like the user wont have a choice of what gets uploaded. People keep some pretty raunchy photos on their phone sometimes. Even kids might have some questionable photos. This is just asking for trouble.

They told me. I was at work and introducing myself to someone new. Looking back now, I think it was a girl I went to highschool with but her name most certainly wasn’t Fobertleigh back then.
- Comment on It's a tragedeigh 3 weeks ago:
I met someone in a dream last night named Fobertleigh. There is no point to this, The post just reminded me of it.

I have a stuffed dog that Ive kept since i was a baby. Im middle aged now and that dog is still with me. Its not in bed with me anymore because i want to keep it preserved but it still brings me comfort when I need it.

Not only Novocain, but lots of different types of anesthesia. Im a ginger and have woken up in several procedures, even after warning the doctor I probably would.

My hunch says that the good people who get into politics, end up staying more local to help their communities directly. The ones who aspire to raise the ranks are the ones you don’t want leading to begin with.

Ive been seriously looking into making the switch. After some reading I decided Mint would be the easiest transition and downloaded the ISO to try it out with a USB boot. Im sure its a fluke, but since I have dual monitors the display was messed up and whenever I tried to fix it the entire GUI went away on both monitors and wouldn’t recover. I had to force power off the machine and ive been hesitant since then to make the actual switch. Id hate to brick my machine right off the bat, just trying to swap display sources.

Seconded on donating. It was free when I needed it for a family member and they sent a really lovely memorial letter. It listed all the things the donations went to like helping to restore sight in a veteran. You also still receive the cremated remains afterwards. Its a great option.
- Comment on Is there a less stinky way to cook broccoli? 4 months ago:
Broccoli is probably the least offensive of the Brassicas but they all stink when cooking. Baking in a casserole or something that covers the broccoli completely might work. I imagine the only stink free way would be raw or possibly suis vide.
