I’m starting to think that this guy had an experience.

“people often…” Sounds like more than an isolated incident. The herd must live near by.

I love dogs. Have two rescue mutts, they’re priceless. I’ve loved dogs my whole goddang life, I really think they’ve gotten the short end of the stick with their deal with humanity. they deserve our love and care.

but goddamn people: stop bringing your dog into the supermarket. yeah yeah you can claim it’s an emotional support animal, I don’t fucking care. It’s a food store, and there are people there that don’t want to interact with your dog, or clean up it’s accidents, where they shop for FOOD.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk I guess.

My local grocery store now has big ass signs on the door saying no dogs unless they’re actually real service animals like seeing eye dogs and that emotional support animals don’t count. I think they must be actually enforcing it too because it’s one of the few places I don’t see people’s fucking dogs running around. I love dogs, probably more than the average person, but they don’t belong in most stores especially because the overlap between people bringing their dogs into stores and the people who actually train their dogs is pretty small.

A lot of people don’t understand the difference between service dogs and ESAs, including store owners and employees.

The American with Disabilities Act does not include ESAs, and businesses can prohibit them.

It’s also important to note that not every service animal is a seeing eye dog. There are lots of service animals for conditions that aren’t easily apparent.

Emotional support animals wearing the official harness are actually real services animals that have been trained and such. They will behave.

One of my friend only carries the official harness because of places like this that don’t consider them to be “real”…

We love dogs too in my household. I have four dogs, in addition to numerous other terrestrial and aquatic pets.

But unfortunately, much like other people can be the worst, other people’s dogs can be the worst!

And for that matter I am the rare Lemmy user that also loves kids. I am the fun dad and uncle. other people’s kids can also be the worst, lol.

People just need to pay attention to the world around them and how they affect others. That would be nice. (good luck, amirite?)

My mastiffs are angels but I’d never take them into a restaurant or store; I barely let strangers come close to us while where walking. They’re pretty anxious and very protective. If someone fucks with the dogs and gets bit, they’re either dead or losing a limb and my good boys aren’t going to be held at fault for some dumbass’ behavior.

They’re geologists, they should know if the lampposts outside are anchored sufficiently.

Geologists are the ones that lick stones, civil engineers are the ones that understand lampposts and concrete.

You are right but the field is not too far off, geologists should know where to obtain info on street lamps’ hellhound-proofness.

I’m sure they would if the city would stop fining and harassing them about the bore holes for core samples. The pencil pushers are always standing in the way of real science.

Jesus, the coffee was hot lawsuit was about 3rd degree burns and elderly woman in the passenger seat of a stopped car sustained requiring skin grafts. She sued after McDonalds refused to cover her medical bills, and discovery revealed that McDonalds recklessly kept thier coffee hotter than their competitors despite the known saftey risks because it bumped thier bottom line. They had recorded complaints 100s of other injured customers.

She was awarded millions of dollars in punative damages by the jury. The number was based on one days sales of coffee by McDonalds.

She also never got all that money. The original judge reduced it then she settled for even less after McDonalds made it clear they would tie it up in endless appeals.

Thank you! The amount of people bringing dogs into shops is annoying. Especially grocery stores, like leave them at home. The dog owners let them wander, touch food, items etc.
