Yeah, unfortunately it was to close, as clearly she still didn’t win enough states. Not that I want Hillary to be president, but if she had one we would have never had Trump at least. The entire supreme Court would look different, and who knows what things would look like now.
Comment on Every female Democrat presidential nominee has resulted in a Donald Trump presidency

Correlation does not equal causation.
You’re ignoring that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, a fact that people who cry ‘misogyny’ also tend to ignore.

who knows
Better. We know they would look better. We could have elected a dryer with a magic 8-ball inside of it and done better.
His mismanagement of covid alone is damning.

I despise the Clinton’s, and I’m not convinced things would be significantly improved, having watched Obama and Biden enthusiastically embrace fascism and genocide.
But the point remains: can’t really claim misogyny for Clinton losing the election when she received more votes than Donald.
turtlesareneat@discuss.online 1 day ago
Your despising of the Clintons is the real point: there was an anti-Clinton machine working for 20 years before her run, making everyone who listens to AM radio, or eventually conservative TV, absolutely hate them both. She was pre-judged before she ever got up there. Everyone had an opinion. What a fucking mistake.
That said I do think it would be silly to run another female candidate with this electorate, there is a gruff male-driven populism at work, and Dems/Progs/Liberals/Whomever would do well to play into it rather than fight it if, of course, we have another real election.

I disagree. There was a ton of reporting on people who voted strongly for AOC and also for Trump.
The problem isn’t nominating a woman. The problem is you nominate shitty women who lack authenticity.

How did Obama and Biden embrace fascism?
Burninator05@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Don’t forget that while Harris didnt win the popular vote, neither did Trump.
someguy3@lemmy.world 1 day ago
He didn’t win a plurality, but he did win the popular vote (which doesn’t need to be >50%).

people who cry ‘misogyny’ Who are you talking about and how do you know how “they” react to that argument?
People who cry about
people who cry ‘misogyny’ usually don’t write arguments that people talking about misogyny don’t agree to. But what they do, is being a special snowflake “I am not a feminist because they…”. That is a way of downtalking the feminist movement.

Totally, me making a correct point contrary to OP is downtalking the feminist movement.
frischkaesbagett@feddit.org 1 day ago
You are perfectly making my point: when you write “people who,…” you in that case are actually adressing OP and using the typical “pick me” mechanism to dodge addressing OP directly. (Because he didn’t say what you laid in his mouth (but you didn’t because you are talking about people)) What i wish: By highering yourself let’s not lower others but convince them of our arguments. With “people who…” you are creating groups that most of the times aren’t as homogeneous as we think.

That was the election that Trump talked about grabbing women by the pussy, and still ended up President, right?

Yup

So maybe a little misogyny
assaultpotato@sh.itjust.works 1 day ago
The Americans can have a little misogyny, as a treat
FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 day ago
Yes, and that actually works against the point you think you’re making, because the female candidate received more votes.
