Honestly, that’s the way I read the parent comment. Become a roadblock for the trash we have today.

I wish. I have noticed that I don’t see many Lenny endorsements anymore, I wonder if they remove those (I know my comment has been removed couple of times).

There is probably a much better study than my silly little hypothesis, but I think politicians attract a lot of narcissists. Yes there are plenty of genuine and honest people in politics who are there to help people, but it’s also one of those careers that you can get by solely on lies and grifts, you are just trying to convince an average person to vote for you in most cases after all.

It was just an art piece, but ever since it took a meme form people took it as an actual product
- Comment on Asus and Lenovo’s handhelds get price hike as Valve pauses some Steam Deck sales 2 weeks ago:
I never pre-order, and I am not advocating for pre-ordering, but just curious, can’t the item just be returned if the customer is not satisfied?
- Comment on Microsoft and Asus announce two Xbox Ally handhelds with new Xbox full-screen experience 2 weeks ago:
Looking at your use case, I would go with Asus. You would already have a decent library because of some Xbox Play Anywhere titles, plus there is also gamepass.

I’m not too worried about that, Elden Ring was a February game.
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 dev calls Randy Pitchford's $80 Borderlands 4 comments "gross" because it implies the FPS is more important than "making it day to day" 4 weeks ago:
But that type of fun is something I can get from many other games, making borderlands way less desirable if it’s $80. On the other hand if larian says that their next game is $80, I already know that I won’t find that type of experience anywhere else and I might just splurge.
- Comment on The PS3's comeback was insane 4 weeks ago:
PS3 launched at $500 in 2006 and Xbox launched at $300 ($400 with HDD) in 2005. Then ps3 had a slim model in 2009 that was $300. Xbox was ahead and Microsoft got lazy whereas ps3 was starting to get some fun exclusives and had a free online. There are just multiple factors that played into this.

Average folks don’t take a pic, edit it to make some text space on top and then write the whole story there. If this was like a Twitter/Facebook post with the text in the post caption then it would be more believable.
- Comment on How I view others in social media 5 weeks ago:
Yea, that’s what I was trying to imply by being “self aware”. Since I realize I have nothing original to add, I just won’t say it.
- Comment on How I view others in social media 5 weeks ago:
I can never tell if it’s bots or if people are just so unoriginal. I mean I’m not that original myself, but at least I’m self aware.

- Comment on Ubisoft Accused of 'Secret Data Collection' in Single-Player Games 1 month ago:
I’m sorry, but that’s a terrible analogy. In the gaming scenario, Ubisoft is collecting the data on their own product usage, your hairdresser analogy is going outside of the service that the hairdresser is providing.

- Comment on Do you use your blinker in a car? 2 months ago:
I would rather overuse it than under use it. Funnily enough I do use mine in turn only lanes too, it’s just background noise to me at this point, but I never used it while pulling out of a low traffic suburban/rural house.
- Comment on Clean butt 2 months ago:
But I sit on my couch and bed, where I sometimes lay. I know there is a layer of clothing, but sweat is a thing.
- Comment on Clean butt 2 months ago:
I honestly got used to the regular temp one. So much so that when I moved and the new house came with the fancier bidet, I just ended up using regular water every time.
- Comment on If you're still on Reddit... 2 months ago:
What’s annoying is how stubborn they are about moving over to Lemmy. I know it’s not super straightforward, but it’s also not nearly as complicated as they make it sound.

Funny how CDPR themselves then had a major fuck up with Cyberpunk
- Comment on GitHub - LadybirdBrowser/ladybird: Truly independent web browser 3 months ago:
The hyperbole here is insane. My trans friend’s Japanese parents are supportive of him, but they have some trouble with pronouns. If you’re not a native English speaker and learned the standard pronouns, then I think it’s just naturally too confusing. Pretty much all of them are translating in their minds in real-time.
- Comment on Are Dating Apps Getting Worse? 4 months ago:
This, I think I had over 100 first dates and maybe 10 second dates. I’m not a catfish by any means, but I think people just come off differently over text than in-person, it can be kind of a whiplash.

I can tell OLED and regular LED or LCD apart, but that type of improvement never seemed worth it to me. Maybe I should have checked out some specific content on it, but OLED never really blew my mind.
- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 4 months ago:
I consider myself an idiot when it comes to this, but even I had zero issues. Went to Lemmy, joined .zip because it sounded cool and started browsing All to discover other communities (same as Reddit). If it had more steps to that then I would’ve done that too because i acknowledge that Reddit is going to shit and I am committed to my principles.
