Congrats! Glad to have you. Moderating is not easy and mostly you never get any thanks for volunteering. We appreciate it.
- Comment on Microsoft still can't convince folks to upgrade to Windows 11 3 days ago:
Microsoft’s new OS has never been a concern of mine. I still have a windows XP, Vista, and windows 7 PC’s. They all work fine but zero security updates of course. You don’t need to upgrade your OS and most people will simply just keep windows 10 instead up buying a new computer.
I’m just going to setup dual boot with linux since i have some modding and custom software that only works on windows.

Dang, that is super easy, i can do that tonight in 30 minutes. Thanks!

I’ve been meaning to mod my Wii U, but i never play it, so it’s been on the backburner. I heard it’s almost as easy as modding the Wii.
- Comment on The McDonald's employee who called on Luigi has never received their "reward", folks chasing the 100k for Kirk may not either... 3 days ago:
No one ever gets those rewards, or if they do, it’s a couple hundred dollars for all your time they wasted.
Doesn’t help to snitch to the government.

- Comment on Many of the younger generations of folks don't know what it's like to watch TV series out of order by virtue of channel surfing on live TV and grabbing random episodes here and there 5 days ago:
It is really weird to be able to have all my shows in order. Shows like south park doesn’t matter as much since most of the episodes aren’t multipart, but the cartoon wars and episodes 200 and 201 were pretty awesome to watch back to back weeks live.
- Comment on Spotify is finally launching support for lossless music streaming 5 days ago:
But not like people are going to notice any difference over a stream if it buffers even slightly.
Most people can’t even tell the difference between 192 and 320 kbps, they don’t care about lossless over stream. Also screw spotify.

You can’t even get an apartment here without making a ton of money. Cheapest studio apartment here is $1,500 a month. I have to prove i make $4,500 a month just to barely qualify, which i don’t. Then they charge you so much for application fees, and then utilities they overcharge for, it’s all a scam.

I’m so glad I don’t work retail anymore. Ruined all music for me. I’ve heard every Christmas song at least a thousand times and I can’t listen to All Star by Smash Mouth Anymore.

I never saw this growing up and it makes sense. Too expensive and too useless for the few games it would make sense for. $99 was like $220 back then.

These days arcades are more pinball focused and it has saved the arcade industry in the US at least. I’m one of the people who uses the Pinball map app and tries to go play pinball anywhere I go. Many arcades have opened in the past 5 years and are doing well. People are tired of being at home from covid, and the social aspect is amazing and the community is very open and kind.
Most people can’t afford a $7,000-15,000 pinball machine, so they go out and pay 50 cents to a dollar per game and have fun for a couple hours.
I’m actually going to an arcade today in my city that is one of 3 huge ones within a 45 minute drive. Over 35 pinball machines and 50 arcade games, many are imported from Japan and are Amazing!!
- Comment on What's *your* favorite way to play old games? 1 week ago:
Original equipment if possible. Once I replaced my TV with a new crappy smart TV, my retro consoles obviously wouldn’t work. A $25 insignia upscaler from best buy gas solved all those problems except for PS2 since it’s native resolution is hard to convert to digital, so it looks like crap. All other consoles look fine and saved me $300 compared to a retrotink. Otherwise it’s all on my modded Wii or Xbox 360.

They are just trying to annoy people and micromanage any left leaning or non partisan organization so they give up and just submit to the nazi’s.
Don’t do it, nothing good comes from giving the nazi’s what they want.

- Comment on That's an impressive drop. Any ideas why? 1 week ago:
Probably depression, online dating ruining the entire dating world, and the economy sucking.
I remember growing up, you could go to a bar with friends, meet some people and there was always someone hooking up quickly. Or you grabbed a phone number and you were good for later.
Now it’s more “are you 6 foot tall?” “do you make six figures?” “what’s your snap or insta?” “are you a racist nazi that will murder me in my sleep?”
Then they can always say, ehhh, your not attractive enough for me, i’ll go on tinder and DM one of the 60 guys waiting for me. BYEEEEEEEE

Wait, you mean people don’t want to buy a vehicle that throws you into incoming traffic and hits children in the street at full speed?
Or maybe it’s the Nazi that leads it who stole all our public funds for his little electric car and space race things.

Clear fraud and an attempt to undermine the American public.

People need to say it more, so trump will do what he normally does and sues them.

I’ve only been on Lemmy a few days and i can already tell i like it, but can understand the frustration in figuring out what an instance is, or what a federation is. But i personally have used linux for years, i’m a huge nerd, and i hate the way places like Reddit and facebook are owned by republican idiots who refuse to let people talk poorly about the orange cult leader.
