You probably already know this but you have to expand the dates of your search because it saves the email content securely on your hard drive before searching.
There are some quirks to get used to on both but neither are off-putting.
I don’t like the scrolling on either and think the message box defaults too small sharing space with too much other stuff. But it’s the same in both platforms.

Proton has almost the same feel and layout.

I keep a librewolf browser with a profile named BS that I use for logging into these services. You could do something like that to log into these services once every few months to keep it active until you’re ready to completely let go.
- Comment on YSK that a general strike is one of the most effective ways to push for change. There is a general strike in the works across the US for this Friday. 1 week ago:
These strikes don’t really work. If you’re stocking up in anticipation then you’re not really striking because you still contributed a day earlier.
A better option would to just go local.

I didn’t believe this if true. Microsoft is known for trotting out garbage that nobody wants. Sometimes they back off. Sometimes they best is down until we fall in line.
I suspect an assortment of realities that include individual partnerships on the boards, bribes, kickbacks, and more blitz style manipulation to “ensure” LG that people want this, and of course threre is also the realization that they will make bank before people realize they’re getting bamboozled.

I’m reading along and I’m im like, “yep that’s dumb and that’s dumb, and that’s dumb. Yep that’s dumb and that’s dumb too.”
Then I read the last 7 words and, “Oof… yeah that is REALLY FUCKING DUMB”

I think I remember that lol. Not your comment specifically but something seemed fishy about that thread.
The carnivore crowd is pretty unhinged too

I don’t think they’re going to display that rule because then that would be free advertisement in the rules. They don’t want people to know about that at all.

It’s either bullshit or this couple are clowns. Going from one shitty restaurant chain to the next for date night? Lol. Nice try dominoes.
That would be intentionally aiming for true dogshit dignity.

Sure. The chickens that we get from Costco that can’t walk on their own isn’t disastrous to me. Especially since I don’t eat them.
But I get your point.
The chickens that we’ve modified to not walk on their own have not yet blown up our world so we accept their mutation.

It’s a shame we work so hard to destroy natural beauty.

That explains why they didn’t want anyone investigating the machines. Did proper authorities finally get access (no pun intended lol) to investigate? Or was that already known?
- Comment on Schools are using AI to spy on students and some are getting arrested for misinterpreted jokes and private conversations 5 months ago:
This is also why (I think) that younger people don’t like going outside. Cameras are everywhere. There’s no privacy. We’ve become a world of creeps. Not really for the most of us. But if I was 10 years old I’d think everyone as creeps.
Now corporations are forcibly creeping into the classrooms. Yuck!

- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 11 months ago:
Lemmy doesn’t need low bar registrations. Lemmy will grow slowly without the immaturities and the to pompous class.
People will build apps and make lemmy more “fun”
Corporate social media is easy because it keeps the ad clickers there. Do we really want that environment here?
All the quality (non bait clicking content suppliers) will come here and all the spam artists will stay over there.
Just let Lenny grow organically with a little barrier to climb and we’ll be alright
