Stores have been doing this for years using the BT on your phone to track your movement around the store.

OK, so a bittorrent tracker site with a video player built in with comments underneath and you can get perks from content creators for seeding. Then of course some kind of voting system and etc. Then a creator can just get a seed box to start hosting their own videos.

These are also on solar/battery and use cell data.
- Comment on ICE Taps into Nationwide AI-Enabled Camera Network, Data Shows 4 weeks ago:
As far as I’m aware these are basically just trail cameras, they snap a photo on motion and send it over mobile data to be processed server side for ocr. They claim they can also identify make and model and anything different like bumper stickers. I wouldn’t be surprised if their object recognition is just people in India. I also suspect that their OCR is, or at least was provided through 3rd party api calls.

You could train crows to peck at them.
- Comment on ICE Taps into Nationwide AI-Enabled Camera Network, Data Shows 4 weeks ago:
They use a basic is sensor to trigger the camera, they’re just a cheap trail camera that sends images when motion is detected. You could put a black sticker over the ir sensor and then they would be wondering why it’s not taking photos.
- Comment on ICE Taps into Nationwide AI-Enabled Camera Network, Data Shows 4 weeks ago:
I read that glow in the dark material will trigger an ir motion sensor. So don’t plant small flags coated with glow in the dark paint across from the cameras because it will cause them to take and send thousands of useless images and make them think their camera is broken.

This kind of sucks for people who have made automation scripts. It could also have consequences for site owners if it affects accessibility tools for disabled users. It could even be considered malicious under certain laws. If you use something like this you should also have an API.

It could be fun to have a community design competition and have those designs available as well.

A lot of people use shopify and then have the orders fulfilled by one if the many print on demand services. So once the store is set up then it’s basically on auto pilot as far as I can tell.
I’ve never done it before, but they make it pretty easy to set up a store and collect payments.
Shopify is a Canadian company so that isn’t an issue in the current political climate, but I’m unaware of any other issues people might have with the company.
- Comment on Please consider supporting Lemmy development 1 month ago:
That makes sense. You could always set up a simple print to order site and slap the Lemmy mouse on a bunch of stuff. I’d definitely buy something.

I had made the suggestion to them that they could start offering some kind of managed hosting services for people running instances. I have a couple of instances running with a hosting provider. If I could have them running with the support of the devs then that would be awesome.

A google forms alternative would be convenient. You could make an easy to fill out page that inouts to a spreadsheet. Put warranty reminders in your calander for a month before it expires.

No, but the drives are constantly being written to, so I’d rather have two in case one fails.

Ah I see with Frigate that makes sense. I’ll just have to backup the config since I don’t want to backup TB’s of footage.
