- Comment on When people in constitutional monarchies pledge loyalty to the monarch, is it actually for real, or just symbolic / a pro-forma thing? 1 day ago:
In theory, the monarch for the uk does have some powers, it’s just they “passed down” the powers to the parliament. For any commonwealth it’s exactly as you kinda said a walking living constitution that can’t exercise any powers in commonwealth countries.

I finished watching this on Netflix like half an hour ago and it was pretty weird to hear the girl talk about her own diary even though she is deceased.
But that being said it’s a brilliant documentary and really opens your eyes to what others may be going through.

True you’d like to think that, but countries like the UK for example have made paper money obsolete meaning you can no longer use them as legal tender.
I believe Australia have a similar process as well. And like you say they should accept paper money for a while but I can’t see some countries just well just making paper money obsolete
- Comment on I have $5 genuine United States dollars here. 4 weeks ago:
Many countries are transitioning from paper money for example the UK, Australia have somewhat eliminated paper currency. There is more but I can’t think off the top of my head and I do have multiple foreign notes that are not paper.
It’s interesting to see

- Comment on UK warns Putin after Russian spy ship seen near British waters 1 month ago:
Basically it followed international law but entered our exclusive economic zone which isn’t owned by the country but means we have the rights to the resources in that area or zone. Usually an exclusive zone economic zone extends 200 nautical miles from the country’s land.

- Comment on Elon Musk makes 23 posts urging King Charles III to overthrow UK government 2 months ago:
Bruh he needs to fuck off he isn’t a politician neither does he have anything to do with British politics, he can have an opinion of course but when he is donating a shit ton of money to reform party and then trying to persuade the king to overthrow the government and call for a new election that’s a different story it’s obvious what he’s trying to do here.
