- Comment on Come on, science! 1 month ago:
I am pretty sure a phone from 10 years ago could do about same shit as my current one as long as it still had working battery, supported OS and non bloated shittified apps. Pretty much the only thing that needs better specs are more modern games, but I don’t really like to play games on my phone anyway.

Neither being pro-life or pro-choice has anything to do with science but more with morality and social values some people believe in.

Is there something like PowerToys Run for KDE? That’s one of the utilities I would miss the most when switching to Linux.

Jesus Fucking Christ. They really want people to switch to Linux, don’t they?
- Comment on Apple keeps flogging 8GB of RAM for its Mac computers but it's still a dead horse 2 months ago:
For browsing the web 4 GB is enough, unless you do some multitasking. Still I wouldn’t buy a computer with less than 8 GB of RAM nowadays.

You can get Free MSPaint open-source alternative - ReactOS Paint and run it on modern Windows. Although I think 64-bit version is broken, at least for me.

- Comment on Later generations will have less attachment to how things were when they grew up because everything changes a lot faster. 2 months ago:
I don’t really see everything changing faster in the last decade. Sure, maybe we have technological advances in medicine, industrial automatization and what else, but as average person I don’t really see that much progress in consumer electronics aside from software enshittification and stuff being more bloated every day. Things like better CPU’s, more RAM, more storage, etc. is nice, but what is it good for if we could do same stuff on our devices 10-15 years ago with same power.

I didn’t see any difference on my 2in1 ThinkPad, performance was about the same, although Windows 11 UI felt snappier.

And Windows nowadays have like dozen of different security measures that stop you from removing critical system components. It is not like in Windows 95 days, that OS allowed you to remove kernel by just typing a single command.

I don’t really use start menu, nor have ads in my OS (may be regional thing), but that’s a good point.
- Comment on Apple fans are starting to return their Vision Pros 4 months ago:
Yeah, as for development I’d say Linux (or any Unix-like) is more suited for that, especially when you have really great shell, development utilities and awesome package managers, and the overall system design is good for that. Also some stuff is just faster to do in command line, I could never see myself using git graphically for example, as doing so only gives me more headaches. But for most stuff I prefer GUI, because GUI’s tend to have common design choices, and you can generally figure it out in few minutes, while for CLI utilities anything goes, some have built-in interactive prompts, some incompatible syntax, there’s sometimes steep learning curve, and list goes on.

Not sure what do you mean by PC interface. Do you mean interface between user and computer? (which has nothing to do with software) Or like GUI in an operating system?
If by “PC interface” you mean GUI, then I still get you, because there’s real alternative to Windows UI in any desktop operating system. Sure Apple has macOS with its simple UI, and may be good for users that need to do only basic tasks, but if you need to have powerful (and in some parts customizable, although Unix desktops like KDE or Xfce may be better suited for max customization) UI with great UX for power users and without need to get to command line often nothing beats Windows.
