Probably undoing whatever it was they did on Monday (and badly patched in the meantime)

Regardless of the cause, this is not gonna help their reputation. Most people will see this as a 2nd outage soon after the 1st.

Aaaahahaahaha, oh it’s beautiful to see. Yeah, move my DMs to the cloud NOW why dontcha? Ohh, Amazon’s uptime is super reliable well guess what
eager_eagle@lemmy.world 2 months ago
tbh it’s still more uptime than I can manage myself

The issue appears to be DNS related so that takes time to propagate
Kissaki@feddit.org 2 months ago
DNS again?

A haiku:
It’s not DNS. It couldn’t be DNS. It was DNS.

It does, and looking like their internal DynamoDB api’s are the main symptom of it/

When an AI ships some random slop to Prod.

Do we know why yet? can I get odds on AI generated code being pushed without review?
givesomefucks@lemmy.world 2 months ago
It literally happened right after they fired a bunch of humans to lean more on AI…
Mirodir@discuss.tchncs.de 2 months ago
*With AI review :)

Nice misinformation.
AWS reports no issues: health.aws.amazon.com/health/status
Also downdetector just spans 24h<br> The outage was 4 days ago on Monday.
AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 2 months ago
It reportedly took the AWS status page 7 hours to figure out their services were down during the 1st outage, so I wouldn’t put too much stock in that
CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 months ago
In case folks aren’t aware, AWS status page is not live. It is a human-driven page that is updated manually.
The fortune 100 company I used to work for would be notified prior to the status page being updated for an issue before the status page is updated.
Do not rely on their status page to tell you there is a problem.

Imagine AWS, Azure and Google Cloud services go down at the same day. 80% of internet is down lmao.

“Guys look out, this might lead to job loss.”
“JOB LOSS? UHHHH…” Fires a bunch of people, for some reason
It’s got the same energy as being warned that your house could burn down if you let your kid play with matches so you pour some gasoline on your kitchen floor and make a bonfire.
Also I love how these people will do this shit without even checking if it would actually work but a 4-day work week, which we know will benefit everyone through many case studies, is apparently too much of a risk. Executives really are the dumbest, cruelest people humanity has to offer.
