Backed by tech money, entrepreneur MacKenzie Price is growing a network of private K–12 schools that promises to replace all classroom teachers with an “AI tutor” that students learn from while glued to their laptop screens.
First, replace the influencers with AI. Then shut down the AI. Do us all two favors.
And when it inevitably fails, all hell have done is ruin the loves of countless children

Just to be clear: this is about the USA.
Austin, Texas–based influencer and entrepreneur shares of students at her dozen or so K-12 schools, a ten-year-old boasts that he is a successful Airbnb manager, while another constructs a miniature Cybertruck.
I mean yeah. What other country is this batshit crazy about privatizing everything while preaching neoliberalism?
Translation: how can I get in on this “pulling up the ladder after me” stuff that the educated rich people do?
When will we replace influencers with AI? Seems to generate equal amounts of slop.
I still wonder to this day if this thing isnt just a really elaborate mechanical turk setup.
That’s exactly what Google is trying to do on YT with Veo 3 and the ‘AI slop’ button.

I’m not even convinced that an “AI tutor” is better than nothing.
Probably better than sitting in a room staring at a blank wall. But, is it even as good as playing with lego? Playing tag with friends? Drawing with crayons? Taking a pet for a walk?
