OK, this is going to be interesting… How did you prove it?
introvertcatto@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 year ago
Now I’m interested does one have to have sex with Erdogan to prove he is gay?
Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 1 year ago
Some I’d imagine want to serve
thisbenzingring@lemmy.sdf.org 1 year ago
i had gay shipmates during my Navy career in the 1990s , during don’t ask don’t tell.
Those that want to serve will just have to do what gay folks have always done.
I never had a problem with my friends and shipmates sexual preferences.
I didn’t involve me It’s not my fuckin business.

It didn’t involve me It’s not my fuckin business.
And that is exactly how things should be.
Unfortunately, ChristoFascists are inordinately obsessed about the “morality” of other people, and tend to demand that the government gets involvedved in regulating what goes on in those bedrooms.
Just not their bedrooms.

Same in the 00s. Everyone knew and no one gave a shit.
Side note: I love how “fuckin business” works a couple of ways.

Sadly, during DADT, the rate of discharges due to outing was at a higher rate than before DADT.
In the US military, DEI is not merely about readiness, but about recruitment and retention as well. Seriously, we counter-recruiters already have enough material to illustrate how joining up is a Really Bad Idea.™

[off topic] In the science fiction classic “The Forever War” Earth’s future army is all homosexual thanks to mental conditioning.
Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 1 year ago
I think large parts of the world were, it was promoted as a way to curb overpopulation.
It’s a good military scifi but some of the descriptions of the future world do raise some eyebrows today hah

The 1970s were a much, much different time.

SMH in my country you would’ve had to do it. Unless you’d gone vegan.
Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 1 year ago
Vegan, gay and not willing to use weapons you’d still be eligible in Finland. But you can also just say you want to do alternative service and don’t have to be in the military.
SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
Man, you just convinced me to turn homosexual
CombatWombat1212@lemmy.ml 1 year ago
