It’s the wrong way to reach the right conclusion.
But yeah if you take care of the needs of the people, like housing, social medicine and so forth they will be more productive, will create more children and -as unintended side effect- be happier.
Squeezing people for every penny will make them more prone to revolt, so it’s basic reasoning: of you’re rich and want to remain that way, take care of the people doing the work!

Whilst I do get tired of the idea that old English was pronounced that way, I still adore the fact that in TF2 medieval mode all chat was auto corrected to ‘faux medieval’.

There no real guarantee that Jack would’ve turned out to be a better person, had he lived.
I mean there is this take off a poor, aspiring artist from Vienna from shit the same period who turned out to be a really shitty person.

- Comment on She's a pain in my rear but she keeps me straight! 2 weeks ago:
“I know that I know nothing” is a saying derived from Plato’s account of the Greek philosopher Socrates: "For I was conscious that I knew practically nothing’
It’s not really Plato that’s saying that, he’s attributing it to his teacher, Socrates.
