You might. Leftists know ACAB.

We forget how disturbingly cruel and barbarian groups of people and the state can be.

You are so cool.

Yeah yeah, doesn’t change the fact we’ve been calling this out forever.

You the leftists? 😂

I’m glad you finally have a reasonable role model. Maybe you’re gonna clean up your “super classy” act now?
Hope springs eternal….
axexrx@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Theres a neighborhood in my town called ‘hope springs.’ The spring apparently dried up ~100 years ago. Always gives me a chuckle when I drive by

Actually, you know what. Bye.
PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 2 months ago

Whose this “we” – I’ve been anti death penalty since before I could vote because I have never been able to forget.
I would go so far as to say not only is the death penalty anti American, any one who wants the death penalty to remains needs to be added to a pool from which some is randomly executed; affirming their resolve and devotion.
PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 2 months ago
It’s really weird how some people can take any kind of statement, no matter how well meant, and make it about themselves. You aren’t even the first.
Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 months ago
It’s really weird how people use sloppy language in their statement and then are upset about it.
Then they ignore the rest of the comment because they are too triggered to do otherwise. Then end the comment by making about exactly what they claimed the first one wasn’t about.
PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 2 months ago
People aren’t computers. The statement was general, not about the death penalty. You completely failed and wanted to make it about yourself and have an argument.
That’s completely silly. But you know, whatever you say, this is crazy. Have a nice day, hope you relax and take it easy. Bye.
saltesc@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Oh, it was always worse. But it does always get better. They’ll say it about us one day, if we aren’t forward the finish line of society as it stands.
arandomthought@sh.itjust.works 2 months ago
But remember that with the whole “the arch of history bends towards justice” it does not do it on its own. There is no rule in the universe that says that. It only bends if we are the ones actually bending it.
ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Then the saying is meaningless.
arandomthought@sh.itjust.works 2 months ago
Not necessarily. It could express that over time enough people will always “bend the arch”. It’s still not a passive thing that just happens. But even then it could make you complicit if you don’t understand that you can influence how fast it bends.
Rothe@piefed.social 2 months ago
That is unfortunately not a given at all.
PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Yes, but I don’t completely believe this. I think it can get worse.
tetris11@feddit.uk 2 months ago
I think it cycles better/worse/better/worse with an incremental trend towards betted
saltesc@lemmy.world 2 months ago
Bingo. And in reference to our entire history, I don’t see why it would suddenly be any different forr singular generations. It’s so much a pattern set in stone that it could be said it is our nature.
