It’s dessert.
- Comment on While everyone laughs that trump shit himself im almost certain the guy has an embarrassment kink. 1 day ago:
I don’t think so. He is a pathologic narcissist, which means that he needs all attention directed at himself, regardless of the nature of that attention. He doesn’t really register embarrassment as most of us do, only whether it caused people to focus their attention on him or not.

Deliciously so.
- Comment on Elon Musk Is Rolling xAI Into SpaceX—Creating the World’s Most Valuable Private Company 3 days ago:
Data centers in space sounds like one hell of an expensive investment for something that has not once shown any profitability yet, and are in fact most likely about to burst its bubble in the near future.

Which pagans? There are as many pagan denominations as there are religions.
- Comment on Meet ‘Amelia’: the AI-generated British schoolgirl who is a far-right social media star 1 week ago:
Their oligarch overlords are currently adding billions to their fortunes by peddling it. So of course the right wingers will open wide and guzzle down all of the AI diarrhea when they are told to do so.

It’s where the fascists hang out, so at least they found the right audience.
- Comment on Goldenrod 1 week ago:
You would be wrong. It is an invasive species because it affects the whole ecosystem. It takes the space of plants that supports multiple species of animals and plants, which would then also die out.
How are so many people completely clueless about how eco-systems work, and just nonchalantly spout off misinformed nonsense about the subjects they are commenting about?
- Comment on Goldenrod 1 week ago:
Also, Europe is probably the continent with the most egregious history spreading invasive species.
What on Earth does that have to do with anythign? An invasive species is an invasive species.
- Comment on Microsoft Gave FBI Keys to Unlock Encrypted Data, Exposing Major Privacy Flaw 1 week ago:
Indeed. I think the inevitable discussion about best distro, which always comes up in this context, is more hurtful than constructive, since it may end up confusing and scaring away potential Windows-defectors.
The point is to get them to try out linux and get a taste for it, and only when they have become comfortable with the concept and realised it is not so scary of a change that some people claim, should they begin to consider which distro is right for them.

This explains nothing.
- Comment on What next, power supply shortages? 2 weeks ago:
Exactly. Capitalism, as the other commenter said.
- Comment on Data centers will consume 70 percent of memory chips made in 2026 - supply shortfall will cause the chip shortage to spread to other segments | Tom's Hardware 2 weeks ago:
Unlike with the GPU shortage, where the cryptomining gpus could be used by regular consumers, the datacenter ram and so on is not usable on personal computers. It is all going to be e-waste, and we will still have a shortage after the bubble burst.
- Comment on RAM shortage chaos expands to GPUs, high-capacity SSDs, and even hard drives 2 weeks ago:
So far they are sustaining each other in a giant circle jerk of investments. It is only going to implode when they run out of money, and the problem is they have a mindbogglingly huge amount of money.
- Comment on RAM shortage chaos expands to GPUs, high-capacity SSDs, and even hard drives 2 weeks ago:
They are ramping up production. But it all goes to AI data centers.
- Comment on 2 weeks ago:
It’s not, but legality isn’t really something that matters in a dictatorship.
- Comment on Bandcamp bans purely AI-generated music from its platform 3 weeks ago:
Unfortunately they would never stick to segregated websites like that. AI pushers needs to expose it to everyone and slop it on general platforms, otherwise they will lose out on that sweet investment money.

Indeed. It is like drinking in a sweatshop.
- Comment on finally 3 weeks ago:
I mean anybody can just put their music on there, so of course a lot of greedy morons would have uploaded some AI slop.
How bandcamp is going to enforce the AI ban is a big question though. I suspect most of the AI sloppers will not exactly openly declare that their music is AI.
- Comment on 'Worst in Show' CES products include AI refrigerators, AI companions and AI doorbells 3 weeks ago:
They don’t care about sales, they got that sweet venture capital money and those stock prices.
- Comment on If tomato is a fruit then lasagna is a fruit tart. 3 weeks ago:
Also properly made lasagna with ragu alla bolognese contains very little tomato. It is a meat ragu, not a tomato sugo.
- Comment on Trump says US needs to own Greenland to deter Russia, China 4 weeks ago:
People should read up on the subject a bit. The US already has an airbase on Greenland. They used to have many, but have closed all but one.

No, a sleeper agent will have to have a boring ass regular job as part of the cover. You will literally work more, since you will have to work your regular job and your spy job at the same time.
- Comment on Denmark becomes first country in world to end letter delivery 5 weeks ago:
The level of digitisation in Denmark is very high compared to basically any other country in the world. Something which most of the commenters in this thread are obviously not aware of.
Also the thread title is wrong. You will still be able to send physical letters, it is just not being done by the historical postal delivery service anymore.
- Comment on We own the hardware, but not the experience anymore — Big Tech keeps building smarter, more connected devices, but the user experience feels more intrusive, more confusing, and less human 5 weeks ago:
Sigh. This kind of nonsense is why so many people get scared away from even trying linux. Who cares which distro you use, as long as it is linux it is a step in the right direction, and a whole lot of people (including myself) have taken that step very recently, despite some arrogant linux bros doing their best to gatekeep us away from even trying.

Continuing my smart TV OS analogy, your answer is like saying just to use a dumb TV instead. There aren’t any dumb TVs anymore! The TV manufacturer cartel colluded to quit making them!
Yes there are, every smart tv becomes dumb as soon as you disconnect it from the internet. Just use it the same way you would use a monitor for your computer.
