In North America, most major mainstream news companies are owned by right-wing or right-leaning corporations. In Canada, I think it’s literally all of them.

I’ll give you a hint: billionaires don’t buy newspapers, social media and TV channels with shitty-shit Returns On Investment (if at all profitable) to make money from them - what they’re really buying isn’t the business, it’s an audience for “opinion making”.

No, it’s not that it’s controlled. It’s that none of you participate or share this stuff. “They’re owned by X” argument is just an excuse.
It’s pretty easy to explain too. Social media and traditional media are all owned by billionaires and they want to push a rightwing agenda because that means less taxes for them and fuck everyone else.
