I fucking hate the EGS and Xbox stores for browsing new games. Most of the time you’ll get an animated video that’s not game footage and two screenshots that don’t tell you shit.
Not to mention that the formatting is so bad that the client requires you to basically be in fullscreen but you’ve still gotta scroll a mile down to get any info.

Hey dawg, sorry for the late reply.
I’d also suggest that you remove the organ harvesting mod as that one is a bit too OP. We tend to add mods and just limit our use of them if we find them to be too strong.
Besides that, if you need me to condense a list if my “must haves” or any other question feel free to ask!

I think we didn’t share colonist because half the fun is building up colonist you care about. It also adds a slightly competitive aspect where it’s fun to make fun of how jank the other persons colony looks. We’d usually find a map with a river that splits it in half and just flip a coin on who gets what half.
For traders we would split the components which was kinda difficult to do before we downloaded a mod that allows colonist to grab x items.
Rimpy is the mod manager we used and I’ll send you the list of mods we used in mp. I’m at work rn and not sure how to post a text file on here but here’s the contents of my .txt mod file that you can paste into rimpy to import.
The ones that say local mod you’ll have to download manually through rimpy because rimpy likes to glitch and call some mods local that aren’t. You can ignore core and biotech though since those are local.
I’ll try to edit this later to highlight some of the more important ones. You should turn off Factional war and raid extension for your first runs though bc those add random hostile parties to the map that might kill a colonist.

For mod specific tips I’d say the hygiene mod sounds silly but adds a lot of QOL like simple heating. If you’ve ever tried to balance the stupid space heaters you’ll know what I mean.
Here’s the google spreadsheet with all multiplayer mod compatibility ratings. A green/4 is great no issues but 3S aren’t bad.
My friend and I basically played it as two different colonies on the same map. We’d just cut the spawning area in half and make our own base on each side. Helping each other out in big raids and going out on trips together.
For rimworld tips I don’t want to info overload you or spoil things you’d naturally come across so here’s some things I think might help with that early game info overload.
Lots of things in the farming menu but you can just grow rice and ignore the rest. Healroot for meds ofc tho
If you get into nutrient paste you don’t need a dude who can cook (which is basically a full time job). There’s even a bigger nutrient paste network in one of the mods (I think one of the vanilla expanded ones).
Struggling with keeping an area too cold or hot? Double wall that area
No pyromaniac colonist
It doesn’t matter too much what stats you start your colonist with but try for like no negatives and not too old. You definitely do want one or two medics at the start of the game tho.
Colonist happiness is what you’ll probably find the most annoying as a new player. Just hover over them to see what’s bothering them and fix it. Drug policy sounds intimidating but it’s really easy and I just reuse the same bs policy I found someone using online. So you might have to grow a few plants for beer and weed.
If you have any more questions please reach out. Hope that helps!

Yeah I’m always glad that certain communities are thriving on here but they tend to bleed over into every single thread.
I find it most annoying when someone’s just casually venting and someone else comes in swinging. I get that it’s especially hard on the internet to tell if someone’s venting or looking for solutions.
Like at this point I think it’s safe to say everyone on Lemmy has seen the same pro Linux, fuck cars, and fuck capitalism posts a million times. I think we do without one post dogpiling on some poor dude if they’re like “man traffic sucked the big one today!”

No, you tried to allude that women were going to be the downfall of society because they don’t like being approached. You tried to back that with the most drawn-out take that I basically summed up as “only assholes allowed to date now because 30 million bullies and they’re gonna have asshole kids and and and have you seen idiocracy??”
You’re trying to make it seem like people haven’t always been afraid of asking someone out and fear what might happen if they do. You think small town gossip pre internet was any better? You think confident guys haven’t always done better?
Also, do you think when women ask to not be approached that they literally mean leave them alone like nuns? I’m not here to teach you when you it’s ok to ask someone out.
Dawg, you gotta stop trying to use your own book to try and bring validity to this. It’s weird and no one’s read or is going to read that shit.
- Comment on lol just be up front lol 6 months ago:
Getting pretty big “women only date assholes” vibes.
Before the internet I’m sure women were lining up around the block for those non-“loutish” men. Fear of rejection? What’s that? some of that newfangled internet nonsense is what that is.
Darn women ruining everything

One of the most entertaining games I’ve played in a long while. I got home from work and was tired but I tried it out anyways. Next thing I know it was like 4AM and I still didn’t want to put it down.
Only issues I have is that I wish some games were longer. While I say that, I sometimes find myself too lazy to rearrange items because it’d require me to basically unequipt everything for a small increase.
