I never understood Twitter. I tried it for like a almost a month and eventually forgot my password and just didn’t care anymore.
But when I did use it, you make a tweet or comment and then either no one responds to it, or like a hundred people respond with mostly vitriol or just total confusion, not even relating to your comment.

The way I explain it is it’s like a casino, where the market makers play and also take the rake/odds.
Stock trading is like playing blackjack, it’s hard to win or lose money quickly. Options are like slot machines or roulette, you can win or lose very quickly. But at the end of the day the people who control the casino will come out ahead of you.

They are actually one of the safer plug in type heaters.
- Comment on Trying to reverse climate change won’t save us, scientists warn 2 months ago:
That’s not a good argument… this is such a small blip, the earth has been much hotter and colder then now and will stabilize again before it’s eventually destroyed.
To me, the better argument is simply: Wouldn’t you like there to be humans or soem sentient beings that remembered you in the future? Maybe not you specifically, but the culture and art that you contributed to?
- Comment on Trying to reverse climate change won’t save us, scientists warn 2 months ago:
Instead of UBI, we should give every citizen carbon credits that they can then either use themselves for cars over certain (adjusting) emission limits or more likely sell to companies. Every company has to pay for their CO2 (and downline for imports)
The interesting thing would be people not necessarily spending their carbon credits like they do money. As there is no real incentive to sell to one company or another, other then tiny rate differences.

- Comment on Cable companies ask 5th Circuit to block FTC’s click-to-cancel rule | Cable companies worry rule will make it hard to talk customers out of canceling 2 months ago:
I read this as: “the customer has contract terms with us, where if they cancel they must pay termination fees and other fees where applicable and if they cancel they might financially harm themselves”
To which the obvious response would be, well you would list those on the page that you click. (But also… why your business model rely on cancelation fees?)
- Comment on Why do cell phones have a data limit but home internet doesn't? 2 months ago:
Both of you can be correct. The policy is prevalent to squeeze money out or consumers. However, there it’s also easy to imagine more than 40 people in a rural area using their phones for media purposes during PM times. There’s less to do, internet availability might not exist for some or all residents, and people use their phone for everything now. Casting from a phone is a larger percent of viewing TV now.

That’s how it was for me too. I was never targeted or anything… although there was some discussion of some ridiculous scams others were supposedly doing. It was just normal conversation for them, for me it was kind of like a riveting soap opera. Too bad I forgot the password/it got bought out by an asshole.
- Comment on Tinkerers Are Taking Old Redbox Kiosks Home and Reverse Engineering Them 2 months ago:
These things happen more often than people assume. In these scenarios the asset usually has some value. So you need to contact the company, and send a certified letter stating “in x amount of time if this is not removed from the premises it will be disposed of” Then you just wait for no response and sell it or have someone take it for free.
This happens a lot with small trash companies that go out of business. In my experience there is a 50/50 chance that they or whoever bought their carcass will answer and claim the equipment.
