- Comment on We own the hardware, but not the experience anymore — Big Tech keeps building smarter, more connected devices, but the user experience feels more intrusive, more confusing, and less human 6 days ago:
Yeah it sucks. The more people that educate and switch others to open source community-run stuff the better. There is also alternativeto.net, and european-alternatives.org for helping people find open source projects just have to search online if it is corpo or community-run
- Comment on Hyundai Introduces Its Next-Gen Atlas Robot at CES 2026 6 days ago:
Exactly and that’s why open source community-run stuff needs to be explained to people so more people switch over. alternativeto.net and european-alternatives.org will help a ton for people to find more
I’ve heard HuggingFace has made a couple open source robots not sure if they are libre fully but they seem interesting. A couple other projects are on YouTube too
The more advanced ones are still not being done as open source though
- Comment on Microsoft Office has been renamed to “Microsoft 365 Copilot app” 6 days ago:
It jus clicked for me why they call it copilot. Hated it since it was announced and even more now. Everybody should be flying solo

- Comment on Do people actually believe those "gurus" on the internet that supposedly "give advice"? These seems very sussy and feel scam-adjacent, isn't it? 1 week ago:
Sadly they do. The best way to make money is just be consistent in what you want to do that makes money.
If you want to make the most money too then above a career is having a business. Building a business next to a job/career is possible even though it will be tough
- Comment on Bye Bye Big Tech: How I Migrated to an almost All-EU Stack (and saved 500€ per year) 1 week ago:
This is what Bluesky does but we should take that idea and do that ourselves as well for not just a Substack decentralized alternative but also for Amazon, and Facebook decentralized alternatives as well

I got you read goodgoodgood.co 2 articles on Hope:
-
New study finds hope key to a meaningful life
-
Hopeful people live better lives (14 year study)
Hope that tomorrow will be better than today and to do today with action solo and with others via collaboration, coordination, logistics, and short-term & long-term thinking to get to that tomorrow.
Read up on the many many benefits for Hope and same for benefits of gratitude, chosen family, friends, & community. All 5 have massively helped my mental health. Overtime as you keep building them up it will help you too. Try to do the same for others when you are able to in near future once you have yourself setup for all those
Read books, videos, etc about each of those things and with each one pause whenever you feel like it and do whatever it says to make it part of your life. Dont chase any of it embrace all of it as now. You are hopeful and grateful right now. You have others no matter what from those and up to internationally with real allies of the people

Would love to see what an Xbox-lead Microsoft can do with it reformed
What are Microsofts most moneymaking fields aboce Xbox? Are they getting eroded at all?

So in a way its more educating people on better options rather than brand loyalty for an inferior product, hige various marketing to get smaller competitors to be seen, and those products sound awesome so innovations like that would pair well with marketing pushes (Community assistance would go a long way for marketimg).
Will look into the ones you suggested thanks

- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 1 month ago:
Would love to see Valve do a SteamOS Linux Phone next.
With it coming with an optional phone gaming accessory to use your phone as a controller (with same design/gaming usage as Steam Deck/Steam Controller)
For use with any Valve hardware/software through the connected accessory (Bluetooth/Dongle/Wired)
Don’t have an extra controller? Use your phone with the add-on.

Read goodgoodgood.co articles studies about hope. One about 14 year study, and the other from June/July about how Hope is Fundamental to Life. Any other articles too. Then cultivate hope DAILY.
Also, think about this, scientists are reviving the wholly mammoth in a way. In near future we will be able to revive other species, and then even make brand new ones. Think new kinds of dogs, new kinds of species for pets, new kinds of species to mount for transpirtation (Dragons for example with dog genes for friendliness and trainability). So it will be possible to make what you are seeing in near future
Last thing learn to draw it digitally. Would love to see what you see. Post it online when completed. Paint/Draw pick your art medium

No worries, maybe you can do a role of promotion getting it in the eyes of people with the skills to get it done. Many ways to go about it. Another person on my comment thread is willing to do it. Couple others too

It would get people working together to make it happen very quickly. Then the load will be shared by everyone who joins it on building it out. The initial setup & maintainence is the spark we need to get it going!!

At this point for people who lost their jobs it would be much better for all of us to make new companies together that are not on stock market also unionized, cooperative, or unionized cooperative.
Coming back to the same companies who will just fire us for more profit is not a sustainable cycle for anybody. Yes apply for jobs if you really need it but let’s want better for ourselves.
We can release Open source/documentation/procedures/business documentation/management documentation etc to collectively make it easier to create different new tech companies for specific things.
We can spin up an opensourcebusiness community here on Lemmy to do it together (Have no idea how to and have projects already if any people would like to pick up this initiative)
