- Comment on Netflix will show generative AI ads midway through streams in 2026 1 day ago:
Haha, the kicker is that it’s pure greed. With their prices they don’t need it and could improve it with what the community wants, but $$$, hey… been away for nearly 2 years now, thought of tipping my toes in again but with that they can f… right off.
- Comment on Apple Reportedly Weighs iPhone Price Increase 3 days ago:
Haha, after they sell the five planeloads they shipped from China?
- Comment on Stop Internet Searching and Start Asking on Fediverse? 3 days ago:
I think it shouldn’t be a competition but possibly something with added value. Possibly in the form of structure, ie something that doesn’t create hundreds of same/similar questions but constantly updates the best answers closest to the existing date. (Alphabetically searchable hashtags, etc…, build it communally, ie #NoStupidQuestions , how to best build a free information platform?).

- Comment on Why does it seem like everyone is so good looking and beautiful nowadays? 2 weeks ago:
I’m older now and just about all younger people look beautiful (I guess that is a bias to some degree as well) yet so many of the young have self doubts, etc. Reminds me of the saying that ‘beauty is often lost on the young’. One of the reasons might also be that a lot have easier lives than others before them.
- Comment on Why does it seem like everyone is so good looking and beautiful nowadays? 2 weeks ago:
… being happy is a good enough reason.

- Comment on U.S. Chipmakers Fear They Are Ceding China’s A.I. Market to Huawei 3 weeks ago:
If ever. I think the US highly underestimates the aversion a huge number of people have towards a country condoning and aiding genocide.
- Comment on An Alarming Number of Gen Z Ai Users Think It's Conscious 3 weeks ago:
Whatever, couldn’t it also be that a technical consciousness will look rather different from what we assume? There are obviously less/none of some factors, ie emotional intelligence etc. But a tech super intelligence, if ever reached, may have a number of unexpected problems for us. We should concentrate on unexpected outcomes and establish safeguards.

- Comment on “It Wouldn’t Be Surprising If, in Two Years’ Time, There Was a Film Made Completely Through AI”: Says Hayao Miyazaki’s Own Son 5 weeks ago:
There are plenty of things where AI (a really bad naming) will be useful - Art is not one of those… Without life experiences you’ll ever be a copycat at best - and even if by chance artificial art is going to be halfway good, I’m, for one, not in the least interested in it. (I’ve already turned away from most mass/factory produced Hollywood garbage, I certainly wouldn’t want more of it produced by a machine).

- Comment on OpenAI's move to allow generating "Ghibly stlye" images isn't just a cute PR stunt. It is an expression of dominance and the will to reject and refuse democratic values. It is a display of power 1 month ago:
There’s a word for it that describes the perpetrators well: BARBARIC. (and still, might will never equal right !)
