I’ve seen an article that describes opting out of the app integration as well (even though that by default it’ll be on. There should be a class action against Google doing that! That said, I can’t see Europe taking this as it is.)

Web search would be a better term since a lot of people use other search engines than Google.
- Comment on Apple sued by shareholders for allegedly overstating AI progress 2 days ago:
Let’s face it the problem is mostly the people. If AI was as super duper as claimed to be it would be able to construct advertising that makes everyone go: 'Yeah, I have to have this, it’s useful, ethical, the bees knees really. ’
The little advertising that still makes it over my thresholds is bad to abominable and of that what registers for me has the opposite affect it intents - I go out of my way to avoid it.

Hope no one was hurt, regardless whether they’re stupid, distracted or whatever! If we can’t build fail-saves into cars, what are our chances for real AI?
- Comment on Operation Narnia: Iran’s nuclear scientists reportedly killed simultaneously using special weapon 5 days ago:
Exactly, they didn’t just kill an individual, they bombed the whole building/block the individual was in - my personal believe.
- Comment on Should I apologize to this person? 2 weeks ago:
Really quite simple. If you possibly cause additional harm then even the idea of executing an apology is stupid. No?

Stylistic choice to make it more visible (in most cases).

Haha, that’s a cheap sellout before committing suicide for an app. Show us where your loyalty is.
- Comment on Duolingo CEO tries to walk back AI-first comments, fails 4 weeks ago:
I have so many bonus points, I just get 5 new hearts. I find the lack of grammer in the free version holding me back (possibly by design, so I’ll finally pay for something). I think it’s time to leave for me too (I didn’t enjoy the gaming side and won’t tolerate AI integration, even if it’s free).

Woah, 20yrs max…, it seems to only pay when you steal from the poor and have train loads of lawyers at hand.

Language Transfer, that someone else mentioned sounds good, have to try. I’ve just started using flash cards with Anki app.

- Comment on Netflix will show generative AI ads midway through streams in 2026 5 weeks ago:
Haha, the kicker is that it’s pure greed. With their prices they don’t need it and could improve it with what the community wants, but $$$, hey… been away for nearly 2 years now, thought of tipping my toes in again but with that they can f… right off.

- Comment on Stop Internet Searching and Start Asking on Fediverse? 1 month ago:
I think it shouldn’t be a competition but possibly something with added value. Possibly in the form of structure, ie something that doesn’t create hundreds of same/similar questions but constantly updates the best answers closest to the existing date. (Alphabetically searchable hashtags, etc…, build it communally, ie #NoStupidQuestions , how to best build a free information platform?).

- Comment on Why does it seem like everyone is so good looking and beautiful nowadays? 1 month ago:
I’m older now and just about all younger people look beautiful (I guess that is a bias to some degree as well) yet so many of the young have self doubts, etc. Reminds me of the saying that ‘beauty is often lost on the young’. One of the reasons might also be that a lot have easier lives than others before them.
- Comment on Why does it seem like everyone is so good looking and beautiful nowadays? 1 month ago:
… being happy is a good enough reason.

- Comment on An Alarming Number of Gen Z Ai Users Think It's Conscious 2 months ago:
Whatever, couldn’t it also be that a technical consciousness will look rather different from what we assume? There are obviously less/none of some factors, ie emotional intelligence etc. But a tech super intelligence, if ever reached, may have a number of unexpected problems for us. We should concentrate on unexpected outcomes and establish safeguards.
