Yea they did, it was revised to whatever this bs is, which is now also being revised.

This is the worst part of YouTube. Just read the manual.
- Comment on Denmark wants to ban VPNs to unlock foreign, illegal streams – and experts are worried 1 week ago:
They already pulled back the part about banning VPNs last night.

There’s a good chance this guy is just a moron.
- Comment on Skyrim on Switch 2 ships with severe input lag and a huge 53GB file size despite being capped at 30FPS 2 weeks ago:
In fact, you can emulate every other console with pirated ROMs without anyone batting an eye
- Comment on Decreasing Certificate Lifetimes to 45 Days 2 weeks ago:
Like what?
SSL is so simple and automatic with certbot.
Then there’s CORS if you really need to load resources from other sites, but you won’t need that for small sites.
Making the backend is easier than ever. It’s much harder to make security mistakes nowadays.
And if you don’t know what you’re doing, just ask an LLM if you made any fuckups…
- Comment on What's the security situation when opening a jellyfin server up for casting? 2 weeks ago:
Corporate servers will usually have some degree of SIEM implemented, and at least audit log monitoring.
- Comment on What's the security situation when opening a jellyfin server up for casting? 2 weeks ago:
At the same time, taking over exposed machines has never been more difficult.
- Comment on What's the security situation when opening a jellyfin server up for casting? 2 weeks ago:
This. People are overly paranoid nowadays.
I have had SSH open directly to my main PC for 15 years and never had any issues except spam logins.
Same with :443 to my nginx.
- Comment on How customer service jobs be 2 weeks ago:
Just wondering specifically how it can be so much worse
- Comment on How customer service jobs be 2 weeks ago:
I wonder why it’s so different in the US compared to my country (Denmark). McDonald’s has been awarded “best workplace” for several years in a row.
We do have much stronger regulations on employee welfare, mostly from unions. And of course much higher pay.
- Comment on How customer service jobs be 2 weeks ago:
What other societies have similar levels of customer entitlement? I think this is mostly prominent in areas with great inequality.
I have nothing to back this up with except for my own experiences though
- Comment on Netflix kills casting from phones 3 weeks ago:
Didn’t they just replace it with Google TV at 3x the price?
- Comment on Israel’s IDF Bans Android Phones—iPhones Now ‘Mandatory’ 3 weeks ago:
What part? The fact that they no longer will be providing Pixel-specific source code?
Who else has been providing the literal OS source code for their devices?
I’m talking about the conspiracy where Google is monitoring your every move, reading all your encrypted messages, and providing backdoors to government entities.

What exactly is insecure about running GrapheneOS?
Or even stock OS on a Pixel? Has any of the conspiracies about Google Play Services ever been proven?
- Comment on Plex’s crackdown on free remote streaming access starts this week - Ars Technica 4 weeks ago:
Depends on the TV. They have an official app on Android TVs, but I still happily use Chromecast for everything

Correct. Written as pwned, pronounced “owned”
- Comment on pwned: do you pronounce it as "pohned" "pawned" or "owned" 1 month ago:
Shameful to not link the original series, but I fully agree, it’s definitely pronounced “ownage”, and anyone who says otherwise is a massive noob

Fun fact: pigs are very bad at cooling themselves, which is why they love to get in water or mud on hot days, so actually…
pigs are hot
- Comment on Google will block sideloading of unverified Android apps starting next year 3 months ago:
They are very different.
GrapheneOS’ whole thing is security and privacy. It’s big on sandboxing apps and browser sessions. Google Play and most Android features are opt-in (Google Play Services are also sandboxed). Just check their features.
LineageOS doesn’t have most of the above. It’s mostly just a regular barebones Android distribution without all the vendor bloat, and a great alternative if you just want more control and less BS (if you’ve used a Samsung device you will know what I mean - absolutely horrible distribution imo).

Personally I always care about farting
- Comment on Begun the kernel wars have 4 months ago:
You can always use hardware cheats. You can use a second device to read memory and video feed, then pass back ESP information directly onto the monitor, or even control inputs.
I wouldn’t be surprised if such devices are already available for mainstream consumers. Kernel-level anticheat is a joke.
- Comment on Begun the kernel wars have 4 months ago:
Bad Company 2 and BF3 were great too :(
Haven’t played any since, and definitely won’t defile my kernel with these new rootkit requirements.
