AMD fucked up hard by discontinuing 5700/5800X3D

- Comment on Valve dev counters calls to scrap Steam AI disclosures, says it's a "technology relying on cultural laundering, IP infringement, and slopification" 3 weeks ago:
And I don't really care. All I care as a consumer it's if the game is fun to play
- Comment on Valve dev counters calls to scrap Steam AI disclosures, says it's a "technology relying on cultural laundering, IP infringement, and slopification" 3 weeks ago:
All the nuance is lost in these discussions. It's something else when you're pushing slop made 100% with AI, and something else if you're using AI for mundane stuff like secondary voice lines in ARC Raiders for example
- Comment on Elon Musk Had Grok Rewrite Wikipedia. It Calls Hitler “The Führer.” 4 weeks ago:
"Führerschein" is super weird to me when used in regular conversations. I automatically hear translated "license to be the Führer"
Not weird for point of view of polish speaker - we use same word "prowadzić" for driving a car, running a company or just leading someone to some destination. From that perspective concept of leading a country and "leading" a car is perfectly intuitive
- Comment on Sam Altman and husband reportedly working to genetically engineer babies from having hereditary disease 5 weeks ago:
I'm actually pro genetic engineering for this usecase. By expanding our medicine, we created an evolutionary problem: Carriers of genetic diseases keep passing their genes, passing the defects further. This will result in more and more health issues unless faulty genes themselves are fixed

Wifi is limited to ~100 miliwats of power, and what reaches you and your phone is in range of microwats or even less. You can't charge your phone with it.

Not doable without some very expensive addons to your house - like IR charging from ceiling
Everything is always charged when Im inside.
That's living in microwave, I'd say its not going to ever happen

You're so cool. You can just throw your phone at charging plate to cook itself, while you can't use it. But it looks cool. Cool tech for cool people.
- Comment on Is Fast Charging Killing the Battery? A 2-Year Test on 40 Phones 1 month ago:
Wireless charging is a gimmick like 3D TV was. There's only one use case, and it's car use. But it doesn't need to be fast. In every other case it's worse than cable in every aspect
