Wishing a political leader, with an infanticide count almost as high as Netanyahu, a peaceful death on its own terms, is far from horrible. I’m being charitable

Hope they show off more of that forgettable-name game coming out in 5 years that Naughty Dog is crunching their devs for
- Comment on 1 week ago:
Honestly, the original still holds up today, you just need to emulate it so you can get the best version of the game. The mods required to get it playable on PC nowadays are honestly not worth the effort. Also the graphics look stranger and more dated than they did originally due to different display technologies and vastly higher resolution displays these days. And, last time I checked, there’s no way to get the original font back, which genuinely makes a massive difference.
You’re going to deal with some clumsy mistranslations but it’s not such a big deal in my opinion.
There’s also a real remake on mobile called Ever Crisis, but I haven’t tried it so no opinion on that.

Both violent and petty crime is at the lowest point in the history of humanity. At the same time, criminals at number 10 are swapping in and out and getting away with every single thing. How is giving them control of AI facial recognition surveillance supposed to stop them??

- Comment on Why adding modern controls to 1996's Tomb Raider simply doesn't work 3 weeks ago:
TLDNR: Combat feels a lot better, the rest of the game (namely the platforming) breaks because of the grid system of the originals

- Comment on Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod flatlines, after CD Projekt file DMCA strike and request its creator drop their paywall 3 weeks ago:
Paid mods suck for everyone, but free mods (especially giant frameworks like the one Luke Ross was working on) suck mostly for the people who make them. Not just because of the unpaid labor, but also because the worst kind of people (entitled freeloaders) end up harassing them.
I don’t blame him for charging for his work, or choosing not to challenge CDPR in court

Good on him. His own wife was bought out by the surveillance apparatus and he’s still going against it. Huge misstep by the EU for allowing government officials to censor any speech they deem ‘harmful’ at will and without repercussions
- Comment on Digital Foundry: Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar is a Motion Clarity Revelation 5 weeks ago:
Not really. G-sync was established before the free and open freesync and VESA adaptive standards were published. The issue was that nvidia locked it behind their license fees, not that it required extra (extremely cheap) hardware. Same thing is happening here.
As far as long-standing, extremely profitable monopolies go, Nvidia is the ONLY exception (so far in human history) in that they have never stopped or slowed down innovating and furthering advancements in technology.
