- Comment on "Biden Administration Policies Led to a 0% Market Share in China", Claims NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang, as He Hopes for a Breakthrough in the Region 1 week ago:
I think it’s a great sign when when megabillionaires brazenly lie about the emperor’s new clothes and nobody in the media is allowed to point it out
- Comment on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, now on GOG 1 week ago:
Everyone told me this is such a good game and, you know, sure, it could be, but at this point i’ve learned to temper my expectations. But now that I’ve played it, I can honestly say that once you get past the (on-rails, nostalgia-bait) first 20 minutes, it evolves into one of the best games in a generation

- Comment on Apple quietly released this year's BEST laptop 1 week ago:
Really? Tech enthusiasts tend to prefer Apple. It’s just fanboys that have strong feelings either way

- Comment on Why did Thanos, with the power of all the infinity stones, never think to try doubling the amount of resources in the world? 2 weeks ago:
Same thing could be said about Thanos just halving the population. You’re making an assessment on your own charitability to the interpretation of the alternative presented, not the alternative itself

The cool part is that 100% of the “AI features” they’re advertising are either not running locally or not AI at all
- Comment on Meta is removing its Messenger apps for Windows and macOS 2 weeks ago:
Tangentially related but I have to harp on about it because almost nobody is saying it. Microsoft —and specifically xbox — Had it’s most profitable yearS ever and people (journalists) still try to rationalize every time they raise prices and lay off thousands and thousands of workers

PS5 doesn’t make the exclusives, exclusives make the PS5
- Comment on Western executives who visit China are coming back terrified 3 weeks ago:
The middle west being terrified of anyone doing better than them is literally the reason they’re falling behind by every measure on that shithole island

I was replying to your original comment. Please don’t pretend you haven’t changed it
- Comment on Hackers can steal 2FA codes and private messages from Android phones 3 weeks ago:
Absolutely not the case. File and user permissions are defined on the operating system level, unlike on Android.
- Comment on Hackers can steal 2FA codes and private messages from Android phones 3 weeks ago:
Permissions, when built-in to the operating system from conception, are much more effective than when they’re half-heartedly tacked on decades later, which is why these issues keep coming up on Android but not on iOS
- Comment on 4chan fined $26K for refusing to assess risks under UK Online Safety Act 3 weeks ago:
The thing is, an indeterminable amount of users (and admins!) are feds, so despite giving the appearance of lawlessness, it’s actually fully compliant!
- Comment on Lifetime of earnings not enough for UK workers to join wealthiest 10%, report says 4 weeks ago:
Not sure which ones you’re referring to, but in 25 years we went from “30 years of income, all in one go, would make you obscenely rich” to “58 years of income wouldn’t even get you in the top 10%”
Hope that clears it up

It’s a terrible look to be sure, but i’m not giving up hope yet. Zarah showed incredible strength and responsibility to the greater good by unresigning. Something every single other ‘moral’ politician has failed to do
- Comment on Shortly After Xbox Game Pass Prices Spiked, the Page to Cancel Game Pass Subscriptions Was Overwhelmed 5 weeks ago:
Consumer boycotts are pretty much the only strategy guaranteed to work, the only exceptions being Facebook and Google, as they’re the only businesses I can think of that are both primarily B2B, and can operate on speculative liquidity
- Comment on Shortly After Xbox Game Pass Prices Spiked, the Page to Cancel Game Pass Subscriptions Was Overwhelmed 5 weeks ago:
Netflix Spotify Disney and Amazon proved that price hikes are effective at increasing profits even despite the loss of subscribers. Capitalism baby.
I think the only time collective cancellations actually hurt one of these companies was that time Jimmy Kimmel made fun of the president and it took an estimated 1.7M ex-Disney Plus subscribers.
