I had to drop my “under 5 bucks” rule because games don’t drop that low anymore. 10-15 is where it’s at now, for better and for worse
- Comment on Amazon is cracking down on illegal streaming on its Fire TV Stick 1 week ago:
I’m was in the market for a new tv and literally none of them come without smarttv functionality. The only option is to scour marketplaces for screens made for businesses, or find a chinese no-name with the panel you want (which carries its own risks).
And if you “just don’t connect it to the internet” (which is actually impossible if you ever have an open wifi network in the vicinity) and connect your PC to it, Netflix and Apple and Amazon and Disney won’t stream at the highest quality because you’re not using an officially licensed smart tv app.
I mean there’s always piracy, but, you know
It’s rough out there 🥲

Having more features and flexibility than other consoles doesn’t take away its main function and selling point.

It’s odd that the PS4 has a web browser, and that the PS5 has mouse and keyboard support, but neither has both

That’s a small computer my guy
- Comment on Valve's new hardware will NOT be loss leaders 1 week ago:
This comment is so silly and yet I keep seeing it everywhere. What do you think the Xbox and Playstations are? What is it that xbox and playstation customers are looking for that this small computer isn’t?
- Comment on Are you ready for a $1,000 Steam Machine? Some analysts think you should be. 1 week ago:
It’s not impossible, however, have you seen what corporations buy for their employees? Saving on upfront cost isn’t really part of the equation, it just has to say “dell” and/or “workstation” on it. A large company values long-term support and supply way more than what they’d save by getting a gaming machine.
And besides all that, it’s not like the best selling console of all time didn’t make money because a (objectively large) minority of owners only used it as a DVD player.

I’m calling $700 US price. Valve’s the only company that can get into the console space with console prices since the real revenue source is the game store they run

It’s such a shame because Apple has been building the perfect platform for LLM’s to thrive in for decades. Hopefully Gemma/Gemini can fill the gap

I wouldn’t. The likeliness of the next person choosing to kill even more people decreases fast with each iteration. And, I believe we can find 30 people who aren’t willing to become mass murderers pretty easily, even if they are selected randomly

Everyone told me this is such a good game and, you know, sure, it could be, but at this point i’ve learned to temper my expectations. But now that I’ve played it, I can honestly say that once you get past the (on-rails, nostalgia-bait) first 20 minutes, it evolves into one of the best games in a generation
