Just be sure to do the combatting during the day, so the fires don’t distract the moths at night.

It would suck if working class Americans lost their retirement money due to Wall Street getting what they deserve. But what sucks more is that our retirement system is based on letting rich people gamble with your money in the first place!

Replacing a letter with an asterisk is still “swearing”. Censorship, on its face, is ridiculous. If the “family friendly” forum allows “swear” words with one or more letters blurred, they’re mindless hypocrites.
I’m sure you know this, not targeting you with any of my ire.

Context specific definitions are the bane of my autistic existence. Figuring out context is a waste of brainpower that could be better used having anxiety over situations that aren’t going to happen.
/Completely serious, but not quite as strongly as worded here.

When I was being raised as a young earth creationist, the earth was supposedly 12,000-20,000 years old. Then it was 10,000 years old. Then only 6,000. After I outgrew that nonsense, I joked that in a few decades YECs would say that their god created the earth in 1980, and anyone older than 40 are agents of the devil sent to test your faith.

It may be too late on this front, but don’t say AI when there isn’t any I to it.
Of course it could be successfully argued that humans (or at least a large amount of them) are also missing the I, and are just spitting out the words that are expected of them based on the words that have been ingrained in them.

But don’t worry, there’s still Walmart as an option.

The AKC and other “dog standards” organizations should be labelled as animal abusers for their rigid requirements in dog breeds. If PETA wants to do good in this world, that’s who they should be targeting.

My pockets’ capacity is determined by the thickness of what I’m shoving in there, not the height. A folding phone is the worst possible thing as it doubles the thickness at the expense of height.

Scheduling meetings is easy. Don’t do it. Send an email.
“But what about when…” No. Email over meetings. You’re not special, your job isn’t special, your company isn’t special, your perceived needs aren’t special. Send an email. If that isn’t enough, send another email. If you get the urge to “give them a quick call”, firmly grasp your phone and hurtle it out the highest window or rooftop you have access to. Then send another email.
- Comment on Amazon tech workers leaving for other jobs in response to return to office mandate 1 month ago:
I think they do actually want to cut the high skilled talent. High skill means high pay, and now that they’ve achieved market dominance in pretty much every industry they’ve stuck their penis into they don’t need talent. Lower skilled, and therefore lower paid, employees can do just food enough to keep everything from burning down just long enough for the C-suite to get their bonuses and cash out. After that, who cares, they’re on to their next grift.

Society will never go fully paperless. If we would have it would have been around 1998. Though I suppose depending on which apocalypse scenario gets us, there will be a time when paper cuts are a rarity only suffered by the few brave souls who scavenge the ruins of the Before Times.
