These are the people that own the GIF image format. Pronounced like Giraffe. Not known to many of you. This is the company that twice threatened to sue or sued multiple companies over the use of GIF. The first time was at the birth of the web and the last time was when their patent was expiring. I repaired TV’s in the 80’s and 90’s. I worked on many of them right after they came in. It was easy to discharge any caps without damaging the units. I respected the potential for getting shocked and the voltage a flyback transformer can produce so I never did get shocked by one.

I remember as a kid growing up in a extended family just emerging from the worst kind of american poor. My fathers generation was the first to have decent living conditions but still faced hunger as children. They all could remember when they got electricity and running water. The older generation of aunts and uncles would often say things like 'We may be poor but at least were not N******s". That hasn’t changed a lot in some circular family tree’s.
