- Comment on Microsoft tells Windows 10 users to just trade in their PC for a newer one, because how hard can it be? 1 week ago:
Bring on the cheap non windows 11 computers. I’ve already told everyone i know if they didn’t want to have to buy another computer for years they just had to start using linux. Then I show them what that looks like if they are interested. I show them that they can put menu/start button at the bottom left if thats what they want. That they can have a the same browser they use and many of the same applications. I’ve had two people willing to try. Most insist that they don’t want to learn anything new. Its depressing but its a boon for me when people start getting rid of their perfectly usable gear.

Such laws are guaranteed to fail in their written objectives. The intended objective is to lead idiots to believe they help.
- Comment on FuckYourHeadlights - A community for people to organise and vent about ridiculously bright lights 3 weeks ago:
Not in my state in the US. Arkansas did away with vehicle inspections. As a result you not only have to contend with bright headlights but severely misaligned headlight housings. Most are done on purpose and the funny part of it, if there is a funny part. When they bright light you its really better than when they are on dim.

Its not intolerance to refuse to support them. Being far right makes you a liar and bigot at the very least. I haven’t seen one example of a decent human being who considers themselves far right.

its not the death of the electric car. Its the death of a bad one.
- Comment on fireflies 4 weeks ago:
Around here they made a comeback in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic. The reason why was they stopped spraying the forests for pine beetles. It was noticeable and now its back to nearly nothing. Its poisen. Nothing more, nothing less. The fireflies die so some undeserving investor gets more money.

I kept getting super hard breakfast biscuits and sometimes they also would have a whole piece of bacon. I haven’t eaten there in nearly a year. I’ve rarely go to any restaurant anymore. The only times I go is when I’m too far from home.

- Comment on Have you ever had a shit that smelled like a hair salon? 5 months ago:
I worked at a paper mill shutdown one time. I ended up sleeping in my truck for four days in the parking lot because all the local places were full. It was a short shutdown so I took the first layoff and drove to a the next job. After I got a shower and something to eat my first shit smelled like a paper mill. The prompts that take me back to the ‘good old days’.

No I just blocked the instance. While there is a chance those mods could be mods on other servers. The hamfisted and out right petty ways they employ are less likely to get a pass elsewhere. I have no doubt many lemmy.ml users are okay. Its just the reddit style modding that I’m avoiding.
