Definitely paid actors. These companies all have social media teams. It’s not improbable that they create fake personal accounts to post apologist bs.
They also can buy sock puppet accounts and use those.
- Comment on Tekken 8 players divided as devs add “Tekken Shop” with microtransactions 8 months ago:
It’s that they added it after release without previous notice.

As a fellow human, I enjoy being bipedal and metabolizing oxygen. Purchasing luxury products such as these Bose headphones is also an enjoyable human behavior.
- Comment on How does employing a rapist not constitute an unsafe work environment for female employees? 9 months ago:
Where I work, most positions do not require a background check so we have a mix of people (men, women, trans, nonbinary) with criminal convictions, including sex offenders.
The only thing that matters is their behavior in the workplace. You get fired because of attendance or poor performance.
The biggest problem people at my workplace are the people who try to make someones past an issue.
Also, your statement that you “highly doubt that changed him” is very telling. Basically it shows that you are the one with the problem. Unless you have firsthand knowledge then you are trying to justify your negative feelings.
Maybe this last time changed them. Maybe they got help. Maybe they’re in therapy and are trying to change.
This person and your employer are under no obligation to do what you want when there is no justification other than your own personal judgement.

I’m pretty sure the ROI for relationships with people who quantify abstractions is in the negative.

Leave Lemmy? Use a front end with filtering/blocking? Change communities? Plenty of options if you just take a hreath and think instead of whining.

It’s where I rest my brain from the stupid at work. Being able to sit on a nasty commode with my nethers exposed is a bonus.

I come out ahead in a sense without Prime because if I pay for overnight, it’s late 80% of the time. I get the shipping refunded and the item arrives before the Free Shipping deadline.

After reading so much about this, I’m definitely going to start reading up on running a Pihole at home
I’d like to ask for suggestions on FAQs or guides that’d help me get started.
TIA!

They probably do bang the animals. They don’t have a problem killing them.
PETA euthanized “2,130 sick, suffering, dying, feral, aggressive or otherwise unadoptable animals" in 2022. Last years numbers aren’t out yet.
Also, they don’t define what “unadoptable” means.
For comparison, the Norfolk public animal shelter (NACC), which accepts all animals just like the PETA shelter in the same county, has a much lower kill rate.
Their free/low cost spay/neuter program is wonderful. Unfortunately, they’re too cheap to care for the animals left with them.
BTW, NACCs intake rate has increased, contradicting PETAs claims that their shelter is doing all the heavy lifting.
PETAs one and only animal shelter is responsible for 11% of ALL the surrendered animals being euthanized across the entire state of Virginia.

Android allows installation of apps outside of the Play Store. Generally, nothing terribly difficult to do. It’s actually very easy on my Android TV as well as my phone.

What’s great about this meme format is the opposite of what their followers would do. Satanists would share their key to feed the homeless while Christians would call the police…or just shoot them for looting. Cuz that’s what Jesus would do.

You have it backwards - those who embrace the devil are actually fighting against this unfettered crony capitalism that is supported by Christians, especially in the US.

- Comment on NYPD faces backlash as it prepares to encrypt radio communications | New York | The Guardian 10 months ago:
Aside from the transparency issue, did you see how much it’s going to cost?
Four hundred million dollars! The city is cutting back on pretty much everything else but wants to spend that on police radios.
Everyone has to tighten their belts while the thin blue line gets fatter and more dangerous.

Well, for starters, European police are actually trained professionals (in general, much more so than American police) and have different oversight. American police also handle a wider variety of things that really aren’t law enforcement - things that should be handled by other kinds of professionals.

I did a couple of weeks ago, after being off it for a couple of months…it was awful. I closed my account and deleted my saved login info. I only go to it now if it comes up in a search and seems relevant.
