Rise of the Golden Idol
- Comment on Patient gamers, which games have you discovered/played this week? 1 month ago:
I started and finished The Case of the Golden Idol. Good stuff. Playing the sequel now.
- Comment on In the US, is this actually the moment past the point of no return? 2 months ago:
I guess we’ll see.
- Comment on Absolute slander 2 months ago:
I also think that they’re underestimating the effects of parallax in these photos.
- Comment on For cats, the carrot and stick approach is reversed, because they hate carrots and the stick is a Churu. 2 months ago:
As creatures that enjoy killing things, it can be hard to distinguish what they love and what they hate.

- Comment on What's Mastodon precious? 2 months ago:
It basically exists for brands to advertise and avoids things like actual news. User counts are way overinflated. Heard multiple people say their algorithm is garbage.
- Comment on What's Mastodon precious? 2 months ago:
Mastodon may or may not be good (I don’t use it), but the fact that it segments off users into different groups means it will never be a twitter replacement. The fact that twitter is essentially “public” and all sorts of people from different areas interact was basically the whole point of it.
Bluesky seems pretty nice so far and it has real momentum.
- Comment on But yes. 2 months ago:
Sometimes we take the hot rocks and ship them to other planets too.
- Comment on Patient gamers, which games have you discovered/played this week? 2 months ago:
I dunno if I just discovered them but I was playing Sexy Parodius and Harmful Park. I’m really bad at both.
- Comment on Terrified friends burn to death trapped in Tesla as doors won't open after crash 2 months ago:
Horse shit. Safety features should not require reading the manual to operate. They should be big, obvious, and easy to operate. What if you’re a passenger and the accident causes the driver to lose consciousness?
- Comment on somebody has to do it! 2 months ago:
Do they actually dam everything or just build a nest?
- Comment on What is the argument for making poor/working class folks shoulder the burden of taxes? 2 months ago:
This really demonstrates what I dislike about Lemmy. Too many people who want to inject their political beliefs into every conversation. Supply side economics is a thing. Whether it works or not is highly subject to debate but it is an entire school of thought in economics.

Kids and their audiovisual memes. In my day [we had to rely on text](en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIFF_(Usenet\)).
- Comment on Nostalgia and remake culture 2 months ago:
Presumably because they are continually picking up new players from younger age groups while retaining many older players, but I don’t really have any interest in those games so I don’t know much about them. I’m not really seeing how this directly relates to my comment, either.
- Comment on Nostalgia and remake culture 2 months ago:
Or uh maybe old games are still good and it makes sense to provide an easy way for newer generations to play them? If a record label remasters a Beatles album do we get mad over that? Music doesn’t have an expiration date so why should games?
- Comment on have you ever been given a warning or suspension for using profane language at work? 2 months ago:
Work in software project management. People swear pretty regularly. The higher up in the hierarchy you go, the more they swear. If a job gave me a warning for that I might leave because they treat their employees like children.
- Comment on Eat lead 2 months ago:
It does take a pretty long time to get a supernova if you’re starting from scratch.
- Comment on YSK that there's a better index than the BMI to measure obesity called the Body Roundness Index 3 months ago:
Seems like a lot of the flaws just have to do with the fact that the real metrics you want to use, which would probably be body fat percentage, are hard to measure accurately at home.
- Comment on I hate link rot 3 months ago:
Is unfortunate that a lot of forums with valuable knowledge are a wasteland of broken images.
- Comment on Reddit says it is not covered by new Online Safety Code as it has moved its jurisdiction to the Netherlands 3 months ago:
Because social networks are only as good as the people who are on them.

Look at your body, people! Mouth, stomach, and intestines! You were made to produce shit!
- Comment on Concerns Raised Over Bitwarden Moving Further Away From Open-Source 3 months ago:
If you want to roll your own with keepass that’s fine, but most people will want a more comprehensive solution.
- Comment on Deep fried 3 months ago:
I assume this is about the fact that a lot of birds see into the near IR and their coloration is often very bright in that range.

At the same time the media kinda picked her out as the face of this project when there were many other people involved. I think she even said as much.
- Comment on Bethesda Believes Starfield Now Has "Its Own Fanbase" 3 months ago:
The reviews on starfield, at launch, weren’t actually all that harsh. Even now it has an 83 metacritic.

- Comment on Elon Musk’s X is now worth less than a quarter of its $44 billion purchase price 3 months ago:
He didn’t bilk Tesla shareholders into his huge pay package because he doesn’t care about money.
