Thats the whole point. They are so immensely rich, they could fix most of the world’s and its people’s problems fairly quickly, and still be rich enough to continue to live in unbridled luxury and splendor, while the population would be mostly happy and content with the system. But apparently money is addictive and so they would rather ruin the world and societies by promoting a shit into fascism than give up even a sliver.

Personally i like him as well but he sometimes ventures into boomer humor which doesn’t really vibe with me. Other than that, apparently a fun dude.
I definitely agree that horny heterosexual men have a hard time on lemmy though. Actually i recently wrote a similar conclusion myself on some related post, feels nice to know it’s not just my impression.

Curious that this is your perception, while i myself have noticed a sort of inverse trend in that regard.
Especially around these parts it is heavily frowned upon making any kind of horny or sexual comment as a dude about a woman. A surefire way to get schooled on what a misogynist objectifying dick you are (excluding literal porn community comment section of course).
Other horny comments are much less controversial, women on men, men on men, women on women. Things you might find in the average (gay) porn comment section get upvoted on lemmy on a regular basis, im sure it’s totally ironic.
So my personal “analysis” of recent ish lemmy online discourse would be that heterosexual men on lemmy avoid being publicly horny because of the expected blowback. That or they make an alt account.

Not an american but personally i would most definitely prefer an absolute fuckwad with little self control in charge than an evil mastermind entity hellbent on squeezing me for every cent.
The former is too stupid not to ruin his lever of power, which would cause the system to decentralize and/or contribute to said fuckwad’s downfall. The latter employs a huge amount of people specifically trained to maintain and increase the amount of profits extracted while maintaining their stranglehold.

The federation (in the TNG era which i would count as the most beloved and accepted by fans) is a post scarcity society, the populations indeed do have full and free access to replication technology, which also solves the waste problem you suggest since replicated goods can also be reclaimed by the devices. Make whatever you need, use it, vanish the leftovers when youre done.
So indeed people are beyond our concepts of material need and property. Individuals may also indulge in commerce if they are of the mercantile inclination, nobody cares, but any citizen can acquire any material resource required or desired in their lives regardless, and for free.

- Consume/use commodity until obsolete
- Use leftover commodity for possible secondary function (old clothes can be fixed up or used in making different clothing)
- Repurpose leftover commodity (old clothes could also be used as rags)
- recycle (dispose in a way that allow some or all of the resources to be reclaimed)
Though i agree that the wording is weird and required my deliberately positive interpretation.

While i would agree that at the immediate present the u.s appear to be the more belligerent and unpredictable actor i believe that there is not a lot of room for nuance in terms of aggression towards other sovereign countries. They are all unacceptable to me. The US should stay the hell out of Venezuela, Russia out of Ukraine and China out of Taiwan, to use the most current examples.

Okay im trying not to be rude here but before you accuse me of not knowing what i am taking about, perhaps read what i write at all. I know the impulse to be snarky is strong on the internet but still, at least put the minimum effort in.
I did not at any point refer to historical origins of any food. I stated where these kinds of food are being eaten these days; according to my experience. Strudel is a commonplace dessert around the holidays even here in Niedersachsen. Germknödel i specifically mentioned as a typical, southern regional food since it is a lot less common (although not entirely unknown) up here.

Apfelstrudel is definitely not just a southern treat. Germknödel / Hefedampfnudeln are a regional (and delicious) food. Other typical south german foods would probably be schweinshaxe and several types of sausages specific to that region. Also all the austrian versions of foods such as palatschinken

Actually here in germany it has been a thing forever to get a tree with roots and all. You water it a little while it is with you and then plant it again in the ground.
Obviously this doesnt work for really large trees, but still.
