I had the opposite for this one, heard it was good and really didn’t like it when I gave it a try.

Fallout 4 with the settlers of the wasteland (I think that’s the name) mod becomes a cool base management game alongside the normal fo4 stuff. It makes the whole system feel worth interacting with, in my opinion. Give it a try if you haven’t and are interested.

Interesting you consider the “smartphone era” to begin 2012. I’d say more like 2009/2010. Around my first year of highschool most students had some form of smartphone.

It’s very different handing my ID to a store clerk, who barely looks at it because my birth year starts with 19, from uploading a photo of that ID to a sketchy service who now has a permanent documentation of precisely who I am and what sort of freaky shit I’m into.
Sure, the tracking services already know this, but they don’t also have a photo of my ID that I willingly gave to them to prove it’s me.

People literally always hate changes to ui. It’s to the point that this article could have been written and just archived somewhere to pull out whenever something changes.

Ah yes!
Students, we must all line up to call your parents before your untimely demise in an orderly fashion. You may only have a few seconds to say your last words each. Timmy, no, you cannot call your grandparents too, we only have one phone and we must be sure every student gets a chance.

Man, reading the complaints people have really shows how bad the average poe player is. I blasted the whole campaign with 2 skills and did so much quicker than the release season.
The QOL changes they made are nice though, much appreciated.
- Comment on Path of Exile 2's disastrous new update reveals the core tension at the heart of its design: How do you make a game with meaningful combat when everyone just wants to blast monsters? 2 months ago:
Disastrous? This patch feels faster than the first one. If you’re going too slow, get a better build.
Literal skill issue.

You can’t be relaxed about things on lemmy, you have to have an anger boner about anything and everything. Especially if it’s what the groupthink™ has decided we have to hate here.

Commenter sounds like they would complain about Arial being black because her original character was white.
You really wanna defend that?

… Are there discs that can contain 123GB of data? Should they just start distributing tiny solid state drives you plug in to your pc and play from?

You’re right. We should absolutely, not once, not ever, have a person who doesn’t perfectly, down to the finest detail, match the description of the character they are depicting act for that role.
I saw a local stage play of madame web where a woman played a male character. It literally wasn’t even a distraction and they sold the character well.
- Comment on YSK that if you lose your Social Security Card (USA) more than 10 times, the Social Security Administration will have to, by law, refuse to issue anymore replacement cards, for the rest of your life. 2 months ago:
In the US men (and I think women now?) are required to sign up for the draft at age 18. You’re given a card confirming you’ve signed up.

- Comment on Bad UX is keeping the majority of people away from Lemmy 4 months ago:
One central server is created. Users finally have an easy time joining lemmy and most are content with staying right where they are. A large amount of content is now centralized to one place. Suddenly, financial interests take notice of a large amount of untapped potential. Caving in to the opportunity to live an easier life under the warm blanket of money, the central server owner sells the server to the highest bidder.
The new central server owner defederates from smaller instances, eventually cutting themselves off from all other lemmy servers. Enshittification begins.
I’m sure there’s reasons this couldn’t happen but I think the biggest strength of lemmy is having users just randomly pick and then figure later. I started out on .world but didn’t like their moderation and deceleration practices, so I moved.

The amount of people I know that said they were voting Trump for “economic reasons” is far too high.
I know they make less money than I do, so they’re definitely not the ones benefitting from Trumps economic plans. The absolute buffoons.
