Ya I get what you mean, it doesn’t always work out for everyone without getting the word out traditionally, but it does happen.
Personally I think advertising only goes so far before a company just starts looking desperate by saturating the landscape with ads.
- Comment on Marketing Doesn't Work on Nerds 10 hours ago:
While some now invest in some level of traditional advertising, it’s not what made them big. As you said with Tesla, they only started advertising when people started realizing they were crap, and even then compared to other vehicle manufacturers they spend little. Go Pro uses influencers and content marketing by their customers, the Dollar Shave Club made it to fame through viral videos.
- Comment on Marketing Doesn't Work on Nerds 11 hours ago:
I don’t know about that. Tiktok, Lamborghini, Tesla, Krispy Kreme, The Dollar Shave Club, Tupperware, Rolls Royce, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Go Pro etc all do little to no traditional advertising and do just fine.
Not that there’s anything wrong with some advertising to get the word out, but when you’re getting spammed with ads from every angle, that company starts feeling a little scummy to me.

The way I’ve always looked at it, a good product/service can typically stand on it’s reputation. If a company needs to spend millions on advertising to move their stuff, they’re probably not all that good or are overpriced. Someone is paying for all that advertising and it always ends up being the consumer.

I edited my other comment to include a site more like imgur, cdn.imgpile.com

It’s more similar to old reddit than how imgur is set up, but it’s more community driven, and everyone is very friendly and quite helpful in my experience so far. I can’t say much beyond that as I’m still learning more about it myself.

Even then wildlife, poor road conditions, or mechanical issues can happen. Having a front tire blow out because of a pothole on a curve isn’t fun.

And they will know what you look like. And with some data extrapolation where you are, where you go, your searches, what you’re into, your payment methods, where you live, your schedule, who you interact with, and the list goes on.
This is one more data point for big brother to collect and share with the highest bidder, or to get leaked to people who do not have your best interests in mind.
- Comment on Are you so young that you have never been in a car with one of these? 1 month ago:
Yup, had two of them. A 74 with the 455 and an 83 with the 307. Oddly, they both got about the same mileage, but the 455 was way more fun.

I downloaded it a couple hours ago. Normally I hardly ever watch any shows.

Sadly I did. Bought the first 5 far cry games and some expansions because I wanted to show my support. Far Cry 6 didn’t work on my old assed PC because of the DRM so I pirated it instead (TY Empress and Fitgirl) and it worked like a charm.

Along the same lines, A lot of times I’ll think of saying/doing something but then end up second guessing myself so much that I have to look it up just to confirm I’m not wrong. Then I feel even more stupid for not believing myself the first time.
- Comment on Merz says Kyiv's key allies no longer limit range of weapons 3 months ago:
That’s really good news. Can you imagine having to fight someone who’s breaking into your house to kill your family with one arm tied behind your back? That’s basically what Ukraine had to do for the last THREE FUCKING YEARS!!! And they still stood their ground!
We should all strive to be as brave and strong as those men and women protecting their loved ones from that cancerous bullshit putin is spreading across the globe.

What a terrible parent. She enabled her 14 yr old kid by letting him use her old laptop with unfettered internet access, but somehow it’s THEIR fault she couldn’t be bothered to keep tabs on the kid?
I guess she’d be the type to also sue the forestry industry if she ever got a paper cut, or sue a tree because she drove into it.

The guys at the top, or the common rube? The ones at the top are just there to steal everything that isn’t nailed down, the rest are so full of disinformation and bullshit that they couldn’t tell you the time of day without Fox news telling them first.
Worst part is many of them would rather go down with the ship than admit that they got fucked by a girly man in orange makeup wearing a diaper.
