Their comment is incredibly ignorant. They’ve been fed a steady stream of propaganda from a fire hydrant of fox News, that’s why they should go somewhere else. Down vote all you want.
- Comment on BREAKING: Microsoft has closed Redfall's Arkane Austin, HiFi Rush's Tango Gameworks, and more in devastating cuts at Bethesda. | IGN 4 days ago:
Maybe Microsoft could stop vacuuming up all of the studios that have built names and reputations based on putting out great games. They’re going to ruin these companies. Damn corporations always coming in and wrecking stuff.

You’re either an idiot. Or a troll, either way you should go somewhere else.

I get a lot of flack for my belief in other animals deserving agency. Your the first person that’s ever agreed with me on that. Usually people get aggressive and call me names, and tell me I’m crazy, or a wack job, or any other number of names.
- Comment on Controversy and Censorship 1 week ago:
It does if you’re using physics to simulate it. Sure, if it’s just part of an animation you’re not losing anything by having it. But if you’re calculating the physics in real-time, it’s costly. They do it for hair, clothes, and apparently boobs now.

I don’t think it’s crazy at all to protect trees. We need them. What baffles me is hiw much we rely on them and still cut while swaths of them down anyway without a thought.
- Comment on Controversy and Censorship 1 week ago:
Is this really something you waste time thinking about, whether or not the devs waste their frame budget on boob jiggle physics?
Seriously, there’s so much to optimize in a game to get good performance, jiggling books is way down on the list of things to worry about.
- Comment on UK Government Response to the Stop Killing Games Petition 1 week ago:
Frankly, this isn’t anything to do with the government anyway, nor should they be getting involved
It kinda does though. The only way you’re going to force companies to keep their old games available is through laws. Companies will only release source code when they take down their online games if legally compelled. They will only release source or keep on steam old off-line games they don’t want to keep up if they are legally compelled.
And honestly, it seems like the bare minimum to give the community the resources to keep playing a game when you’ve decided as a company it’s too old and you want to move on from it.
- Comment on Half Life 3 1 week ago:
That description of how the teams are structured sounds completely made up. They’d never get a game finished if the company was actually structured that way. I’ve personally never worked for a company that would just let me project hop when I felt like it.
You’d be starting over constantly.

Do we really need overlays like this? I’d be fine with just playing the game.

Yeah, uhh, come in, how’d you know I was a space need? Would you also like to scope out my house to rob it later? That’s fine too, as long as you tell me about this cool space fact.

- Comment on Is there some sort of Indie Game Showcase? 1 month ago:
I just go to itch.io usually and play new games there. Might not be what you’re looking for, but as far as indie titles go, I find a lot of weird ideas on there.

- Comment on Star Citizen's first-person shooting is getting backpack-reloading, dynamic crosshairs, procedural recoil, and other improvements to 'bring the FPS combat to AAA standard' 1 month ago:
I’m not on any side of the fence. I just see these posts shitting on games all the time, and get tired of seeing them. If you don’t like a game fine, don’t play it. But making games is hella difficult. I make indie games in my spare time, and I can honestly say, just making a single player game is hard, let alone a multi-player game, or anything realistic. Like Jesus, if you have such a huge problem with these games, go make a better one yourself.

It never ceases to amazing me how angry people get when a game isn’t perfect and bug free. We want more and more content and graphics with the same amount or less resources, all the while refusing to pay any more for it.
I miss the days when people were happy with n64 and ps1 graphics. You didn’t need a team of 200 people to put out hyper realistic graphic open world games that people would still shit on.
Sheesh, I’m glad I’m not in this industry.

Yeah, for all the Spyware and advertising they’ve put into the OS over the years. Requires regular maintenance to change the invasive ads they show you.

Yes, I do, they tried so hard to force it on me too. They went so far as to pre-download it onto my computer without my permission, and then got sneaky and tried to call it a “patch”.

I’m getting super tired of Microsofts OS as a service. There is absolutely no reason to make operating systems obsolete.
- Comment on Akira Toriyama has passed away at the age of 68 2 months ago:
I was not expecting to be so upset hearing this news. I grew up watching dbz in some of the most turbulent times of my life. I watched his TV shows and saw how the characters in the show always prevailed time and time again over those who tried to harm them. It very much did not mirror my childhood, but it gave me a much needed distraction from real life, and made me believe that there were actually good things in the world, and not just pain and suffering.
RIP Mr. Toriyama, you saved me even though you never knew me.
- Comment on Knock-off pokemon was wild 2 months ago:
Digimon is so much better than pokemon. Besides, they were developed around the same time anyway, so it’s not possible for it to be a knock off. The ideas of monster hunting and taming isn’t exactly novel, wasn’t even original back then.

If you care about my appearance more than my ability to do the job I wouldn’t want to work with you anyway.

- Comment on With AI looming, is there still space for new coders? 2 months ago:
It you can pair coding with something in engineering with physics, there’s a lot less chance of that happening. That said AI taking programming jobs is still a long ways off if it ever gets there even.
A lot of programs you ask chatGPT to write have a lot of nonsense in them, so someone has to manually sift through fake api calls, or just flat out incorrect algorithms. That said it’s not a bad starting point if you are a seasoned expert and can sift through all that stuff.
