And dont forget to make eye contact with him to assert dominance.
- Comment on Did the western world just suddenly go back to pretending wrestling is "real" for some reason? 12 hours ago:
I don’t watch wrestling, and I haven’t heard anything about it beyond this post. We must hang out in different circles.

Yeah, my mother was with a guy she was dependent on when I was a kid. He was also a drunk, violent and controlling. Dunno if this guy is violent, but this level of controlling usually gets violent. You’re doing your kid a disservice by staying with him, and they might very well resent you for it later in life, or at the very least learn an extremely unhealthy relationship model from the two of you. Either way, good luck with this. Others have told you how to actually get rid of the parental controls for real. I think you’re gonna find its not as simple as just uninstalling stuff.

Lobbying isn’t inherently bad. There are legitimate issues for lobbying, we just have decided corporations are people, and that take precedent over people’s lives now apparently.
- Comment on Meta ends its fact-checking program in the US later today, replaces it with Community Notes 2 weeks ago:
I cant even get my wife to quit using Facebook. She knows why I don’t use it, and she just doesn’t give a crap about privacy. I have lost my temperature before about her constant use of technology that is essentially surveillance tools.
- Comment on Meta ends its fact-checking program in the US later today, replaces it with Community Notes 2 weeks ago:
No idea, i guess it all depends on the faith of the company not removing community notes.
- Comment on Meta ends its fact-checking program in the US later today, replaces it with Community Notes 2 weeks ago:
This might actually end up being a good thing. If users can fact-check stuff instead of relying kn Meta to do it for us. It seems bad, but there are a lot of people willing to correct their misinformation.
On the flipside, why are people still using facebook.

K, don’t volunteer to be a spy in China. That’s not what this is about.

Exactly how does it make sense to try to dictate employees personal lives outside of the office?

Probably, there are also bots on lemmy already bcz it’s grown quite a bit. They are definitely trying to direct the conversation as well.

- Comment on YSK: That nazis Don't Actually Believe in Free Speech 1 month ago:
Just because you make an argument, doesn’t make it true. One is a group who came to power through hate and used that power in an attempt to exterminate a group. The other is someone who got screwed over by our Healthcare system and decided to do something about it. Comparing the two and saying they are the same is either intentionally disingenuous, or just stupid.
