I was talking about how shitposting on reddit became a cesspool because people started to post actual shit takes and then claim “it’s just a joke bro” when called out on it. I’m starting to see the same thing here in Lemmy; this post being an example. I’d rather this community didn’t get overrun by chuds.

Ghost in the Shell was horrible. She played the Major as a completely different character than the original. Scarlett Johansen plays a really good seductive spy, but that’s all she plays. Major Kusanagi was ace.

The worst part is some useful things could come from it, because we’re hurtling towards infinite monkeys. It’ll only be by pure happenstance, and unless they are lucky enough to randomly find a really great breakthrough it still won’t be worth the massive resources they’ve wasted.

I’m some places in the States they will cut off your electricity or water for sharing with a neighbor that has had theirs shut off. I have seen both happen personally, and not in some back water state. They both happened in upstate NY.
