Its a statue. People like touching statues in odd places, take pictures with them that go way beyond what is acceptable to do with a real person. This isnt sexual harassment, what the fuck. It is an inanimate piece of metal.
They’re not saying that “groping” a statue is sexual harassment. They’re using the statues as a visual aid to talk about the real issue.
The three statues “visibly show the decades of assaults by passersby,” Terre des Femmes said.
I can’t stop imagining how hilarious it would’ve ended if there was -5°C and he got stuck glued to the bull’s balls. Painful, but hilarious

I instantly though about this statue when I saw the post. Although this one might have been harassed (if I can harass a statue) , since it was a symbol of fertility
So judging by many of the comments here, is this news community for right wing losers?
People like to touch silly places on statues. Maybe the intent translates better in German culture, but it’s a swing and a miss to me.

Not really.
Silly and clumsy campaigns, even if they concern important matters, deserve ridicule, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here.

oh no people disregard the feelings of inanimate objects!
seriously, this is like saying video games cause violence

That’s not what the campaign is saying. The statues are just being used as a visually striking metaphor for sexual harassment. It’s cheaper and more effective to put some placards on a statue vs spending the time to design posters that nobody will look at.

Good idea, fully support it
this little bit is bad
saying statues can get assaulted does more harm than good
hope it’s a mistranslation

Did you read the post? The point is using the status as very clear symbolism, bringing attention to the issue of sexism violence in society.
It’s a creative campaign to help people, not to try condemn the touching of statues.

Do they not‽

They do not.

Dozens of studies have been carried out over decades and every single one has shown that video games do not cause violence.
