Did you know the UK is the largest exporter of medicinal cannabis in the world…

Theresa May‘s husband is/was a major shareholder in GW Pharmaceuticals (now Jazz Pharmaceuticals) who is a large exporter of it. Other MP’s past & likely present also benefit from the industry & yet we still have very dated laws on it. Is it in their interest to keep the status quo to keep competition at bay?
- Comment on HP ink cartridge DRM bypass demonstrated using physical man-in-the-middle-attack 1 month ago:
I have an 8+ year old colour Brother laser printer still going strong. Only had to replace the black cartridge for the first time the other week, colors all still going strong!
I can leave it unused for months & then just fire it up & print 100 pages with no problems whatsoever.
Wish I had it back in college/uni days when I had no end of problems with various crappy ink jet printers, even smashed one up I got so pissed off with it mucking me about back in the day.
Saying that, I think I’ve seen comments by others saying newer Brother laser jets aren’t as good?

Apple cider vinegar (unpasteurised) gang here, love the stuff!
- Comment on Flappy Bird’s original creator says he has nothing to do with the new game 2 months ago:
I played the helicopter one as a flash web game when I was back in school some 20-25 years ago! Was one of the earliest simple time waster games (in a good sense) that I can remember being really addictive, the whole class would end up playing it in computer lessons until it got banned.
- Comment on I'm the developer of WalkScape, the RuneScape inspired fitness MMORPG where you progress by walking IRL. We're now accepting more people to the Closed Beta! 2 months ago:
This sounds amazing, I’ve been playing for a couple of months & really enjoying it. Having never played RuneScape or anything like it, it’s been quite a learning curve, but it’s all very chill so you don’t feel bad if it takes a while to spot a certain feature or remember where a certain screen was in the sprawling menu system (which is fairly easy to use once you get used to it).
In the first few days/week I found I needed to interact while on walks to make the most of the short step requirements for early activities, but that soon levelled out, & the walk buffer with 2x multiplier is a really nice touch. Every few days/week I try to leave it on idle to build back the buffer, then everything feels relatively quick to progress for the next few days.
Really awesome work & look forward to the upcoming updates whenever they arrive. Big thanks to you & the team!
- Comment on The amount of sugar consumed by children from soft drinks in the UK halved within a year of the sugar tax being introduced, a study has found. 4 months ago:
Diet Coke leaves a nasty metallic taste in my mouth, can’t stand the stuff. Coke Zero on the other hand mostly tastes ok to me, unless I’m eating chocolate & then it gets a similar nasty aftertaste to it as well. Nearly all other soft drinks are now sugar free & I’ve not found one I like anymore, some I’ve even spat out on initial sip as they taste so rank to me.
Thankfully I’ve grown to like sparkling water the past few years, used to hate it, & often have that instead if I fancy something fizzy.
Classic lemonade also still seems to be available with sugar, which is nice as an occasional treat…

My reply to them is: “Would you prefer to live next to a nuclear plant, or some turbines/solar fields?”
- Comment on Gateway 2000 Computer - Brand New - Free to a good home! 5 months ago:
Hah, I remember the Gateway box being so large I could get in it at the time. And being cow themed seemed being quite odd, but that thing was a beast at the time. I do miss the old Amiga though too.
Thanks for the little nostalgia trip! Well done on keeping some momentos.

Wow that’s a brand I’ve not heard of in a long time. Can remember when ours first arrived as a kid, I think maybe as an upgrade from an old Amiga.
- Comment on FDA recalls defective iOS app that injured over 200 insulin pump users 6 months ago:
This sounds more like a firmware issue, even if the crashing app is causing continual Bluetooth reconnects. How is a life critical hardware device not configured in a way that allows it to run without an app in a safe way!?!?
