They didn’t have the technology to meme, and thus went extinct.

Ah yes, Star Trek: Everyone Is Beautiful

In a world where money has no value, everyone can afford to have proper nutrition and medical care, reducing obesity. Furthermore, if one is in a pseudo military organization, one would probably have to be physically active and fit.

Beyond that, Starfleet is supposed to be the best of the best of the best. While that doesn't extend the aesthetics it is reasonable to believe that people so driven would tend to look good.

Wasn’t everyone good looking in previous Star Trek shows too? Maybe I just have low standards…
Jaytreeman@kbin.social 1 year ago
Who was ugly in previous star treks? Green bikini woman?

Stupid sexy Morn!

Yeah, also just a random selection of actors will probably be pretty attractive. People who want to be on tv/movies also tend to either be attractive already or try to make themselves attractive.
bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 1 year ago
How dare a TV show have good-looking actors!

I’m not toxic, you’re toxic! Screw you guys, I quit.
Lord_ToRA@lemmy.world 1 year ago
I’m toxic cause I made a joke at no-one’s expense and got a severely disproportionately adverse reaction?
What does your comment here even add to this community? You’re just needlessly punching at someone because they made a joke people didn’t agree with which insulted no one. My joke, while many people didn’t like it, still got people to talk about star trek and add to the participation of the community. On the other hand, your comment just adds needless vitriol and has nothing to do with star trek.
To me, it’s very clear that this community, with your help, exudes toxicity. I just wanted to join in on having fun with star trek and got downvoted to hell for it and comments at my expense. Even comments like yours which only add toxicity to the community are being rewarded with upvotes.
I’m mildly interested to hear how that is not solid evidence of a toxic community, but not from someone who immediately jumped to kick me while I’m down because I called out the community for their toxic behavior.

Downvotes for a lame joke that missed the mark = toxic? I read all the responses, nothing toxic there… so what else could it be? Perhaps you aren’t ready for the Internet.

Your comment is perfect proof. Thanks.

Most people most of the time look fine. All you have to do is wash your hair and not be grossly overweight it isn’t difficult especially when you have access to makeup artists. What point are you trying to make
WoahWoah@lemmy.world 1 year ago
Oh no… they won’t participate anymore. What will we NPCs do without our main character?
iegod@lemm.ee 1 year ago
They look like normal humans.
Jaytreeman@kbin.social 1 year ago
My thought too. It's amazing how having a professional makeup artist can turn an average into a stunner.

Got a thing for Hemmer eh?

Aw I miss him. To your point, I always got the sense that he was hideous for an Andorian.
