what reboot they just rebooted it like three years ago in 2013
"Departures are necessary," Crystal Dynamics say as they yet again lay off Tomb Raider staff, but they're "fully committed" to the reboot and sequel

This time it matters. They are going to make her Sidney Sweeney on some sort of quest for ancient used bath water.

This is 2026. Everything gets a reboot. The war in the middle east, games, movies, everything.

Could we please pass on the third installment of that World War franchise?
I understand it was a global hit, but it was too loud for my taste.

I was about to make a joke about Playstation, but I can’t think of a good BluePoint pun.

They’re not rebooting they’re making a remake of the first game and a sequel to Underworld. Games journalism isn’t a real job.

Will they be in the old school, or new style?

I feel like for the big studios, the game industry is very much like the auto industry. If they want to operate like this fine, but maybe do a scheduled furlough while they shut down the plant during slow times?
I’m not a fan of that model either, but at least it’s more honest than hiring somebody With the promise of a career and laying them off when the game is done.

Is anyone fully committed to buying said games?
RightHandOfIkaros@lemmy.world 5 hours ago
If the game is good and I can afford it, yeah

at this point, human beings in the games industry that aren’t VC or executives are fully devalued. i think that’s as good of a sign as ever to ditch AAA altogether and put your talents to much greater use with indie studios.
