    They’re very different and I enjoy them both a lot. Just like I enjoy Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy for what they are.

  if you actually read the manga you’d know it can be goofy as hell and look rather similar in tone to the right one. nobody is taking away the movie from you. you can still enjoy it. i don’t even know if the new anime is good on its own but this right panel is certainly not a mark against it.Image

    Lmao no that’s the Major from The Ghost in the Shell which is currently airing. It’s supposed to be a more faithful manga adaptation which means it will be wildly different from what anime only viewers would be used to.

      Not only “supposed”, it’s very close to the manga, quite incredibly so.

      I always loved the manga, but seeing such a faithful adaption is almost unreal.

    Both are from the new “The Ghost in the shell” anime which is airing right now. It’s a new series which is much more faithful to the manga.

      The left from the 90’s movie. Major is drawn way different (more closely resembles the original manga art style now) in the new show.
