I wanted and expected it to be the best GitS media but they kind of fumbled a little towards the end IMO. Great show regardless and I would recommend it. It’s probably the best looking adaptation but it was just very hard to follow at times despite lots of exposition. To me it only ranks 3rd after the movie and SAC, unfortunately. I just liked what they did with the material more plus the themes hit much harder back then than they do now.

Is it about complexity though? Gachiakuta isn’t complex at all (although pretty fun) and JJK is just random BS the author wrote on the fly (Makes for crazy visuals but you never know the stakes so it dampens tension a lot).

It can be pretty funny, though. Especially in Gachiakuta’s case. Really reminded me of the gun draw scene in Indiana Jones which probably popularized that joke.

However I only found it upsetting in JJK’s case and a little gut wrenching in Fate’s case here. I didn’t think those moments were supposed to be funny at all.

Kinda hate the name changes a lot just because they make it even harder to follow. I’m bad with names anyway and I can’t for the life of me remember these fantasy names that don’t even sound like countries.

Still really like it, but this really isn’t helping with my one big complaint about this otherwise fantastic adaption.

Completely agree. It’s a two edged sword and I’m afraid it cuts me more and more often as the show goes on. It feels like they condense an hour of content down to 20 minutes.

I really liked this one. I think? The pacing of this show is so damn fast so I’ll probably watch it again next week. Even when the main plot seems simple enough there’s just so much detail on screen that distracts me.

Peak and Peak 2. It’s just not clear which is which.

They’re very different and I enjoy them both a lot. Just like I enjoy Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy for what they are.

Is it too early to call this a contender for Anime of the season? I like it more with each minute. Hopefully that equalizer won’t cause any harm down the line. Heh.

From all I’ve heard about 2.0 it’s probably best they only adapt 1.0 and leave it at that. Lesbian sex is cool and all but the tone shift is way too drastic. From what I’ve seen the Ghost in the Shell manga is basically at least 4 completely different works because they changed so drastically.

That’s a long wait so I guess I’ll rewatch season 1 a couple more times until then.
