In testimony from a CBP official obtained by 404 Media, the official described how Mobile Fortify returned two different names after scanning a woman’s face during an immigration raid. ICE has said the app’s results are a “definitive” determination of someone’s immigration status.

It’s definitive because they’re genuinely stupid people who aren’t capable of independent thought. Is a miracle they don’t forget how to stay standing up.
Basically ICE’s digital colour pantone. It sure does make their job at being racist easier.
Anyone that’s ever looked into Google Photo’s “auto tag” feature knows that facial recognition is not 100% accurate. Google has done it the longest, with the largest dataset and the most processing power, and it is still 90% accurate, at best.

RealID is insufficient to confirm citizenship, yet a facial recognition app that is known to make errors is “definitive”? Sounds like racist bullshit to me.

i beg of everyone to keep an open mind and to try to remember that while this might seem like racist bullshit upon first glance, that upon further inspection you will find that the reasons for these things are also racist bullshit
