It’s cold outside all year round and there’s abundant geothermal energy. Basically, is the perfect place to build data centers.
Is there anything of any interests for the tech bros in Greenland?

It’s not about the Techbro, it’s about control. That the same old Cold War for us, Trump want Greenland for controlling a North passage in the Artic and in case Russian want to throw nuclear bomber at him

Didn’t they already have control of it through NATO?

Trump isn’t that much of a strategist. Mostly he just does whatever the person who most recently blew smoke up his as says.
the techbros want greenland for the minerals, and for the record, we already have a base there. (Pitufik, it’s in the hands of the space force, and is a communications base with equipment for missile defense stuff as well.)

Greenland protects the EU against Trump and Putin. That’s why he wants it. He’s in cahoots with Putin.

It is estimated that there are a lot of rare earth minerals there to create fancy electronics.

I read they are hard to extract there just like the one’s trump wanted in Ukraine

A new colony, (seemingly) easy to grab. Yet another low hanging fruit, next to Venezuela.

What if they’re trying to play IRL Plague Inc

Possibly natural resources.
Place to put ports or airbases. Though they can do that if they ask Denmark nicely, and they have an airbase there called Thule or something iirc.

It’s probably also so Canada’s surrounded so that when he invades us too Europe won’t be able to help. I wish I was joking. I now think that’s a real possibility. And it might come sooner than we think.

Europe would not be able to help much even with greenland under control. The US navy is much stronger and a lot of Europe’s navy is tailored for coastal defense.
The reason why I think he would not invade canada (or greenland) is that NATO would effectively dissolve which would be good for China.

formerly called thule. it’s now Pituffik Space Base

Peter Zenyan has a really good breakdown of why they want it … it’s for geopolitical reasons (the northern passage)

No but in a couple hundred years, what do you think mainland USA will be like with the rammifications of climate change. I’m surprised more countries aren’t already gearing up to fight over the arctic and antarctic actually. When this shit really starts popping off, the poles will be 20’C average all year round.

Iceland would be better for data centers because it also has a steady supply of geothermal energy.
As for ramifications, I can see a lot of changes to American buildings as they have to survive more extreme weather events.
