Their supporters still haven’t noticed the TCJA from 2017 raised all their taxes in the first place with temporary (long expired) cuts for middle class and permanent cuts for the rich.
Hell, the majority of voters on both sides had no idea the Republicans wrote the last tax bill and were set to write the new one this cycle, it was barely talked about at all during the election unless you were actively participating and looking for it.

I’m kinda OK with taxing overtime because it should be extremely rare, but has become normalized. There’s plenty of people out there with no job at all.

With my job I get compensated with “overtime” based on certain on time related factor, like if its past midnight, if its sunday, etc
